My Google Authorship At Last!
HI everyone, what's up? Lately, we've been seeing newcomers everyday. This means we're on our way to becoming the world's most popular online marketing network. Or are we already?
First and good news, my image has finally landed on Google search, next to my 'baby project '10 Steps to a Balanced and Positive Life'. It is on number 2 on Page 1 of Google Search, and is sitting nicely right behind my homepage title 'Life Can be Good - De-stress Your Life', on number 1 of Page 1. That's if you enter the keywords 'Steps to destress your life' otherwise it'll be on number 4 or 7, or on page 2.
Visitors are slowly rising, and I'm still working on improving it, and adding more contents at least every second day. I advise you guys to keep checking you site's content, as you may be discovering one or two typos. I've noticed myself that I have few 'oops'- e.g. 'you' instead of 'your', and a few missing prepositions, etc., all of which can cause disaster to my website.
Secondly, I want to thank my close friends who have stuck with me with almost all my blogs, to name a few - KatieMac, Karyskis, terrlyellen, Sui-generis, Blanken, soft wind, Cathy Ling, Charlotte, Andy (even if you're not always there ,just because you're my favorite, lol). To the not so new anymore, 'lego girl' (sorry I forgot your name), Jeannette, mackiejw (where are you now? Thanks for hanging in there for me, until you found the answer to my problem about widgets.) Larry, thanks for PMing me to lend a hand for any issue. To those who left comments on my website, Cathy, John Worthy, Rod, Santosh, Charlotte, a big hug to you guys, that was a bonus for my website ranking. And to the many newbies who've just followed me, I can't keep up with my emails, but will make sure to drop by soon.
One very important note. If you ask for help and made a promise that you will give someone a feedback/comment on his/her Facebook, please do honor your word, especially after we drop by your site and give you some positive comments. I am a very trusting person in this community, and if I was requested to give a comment on his site, I don't think twice about dropping by his site. But I do expect the same gesture given back to me. I won't mention names here, but please remember the golden rule.
Another important note. We're all here to help each other, not to degrade anyone. I may not know all the answers to all the questions, but if I'm wrong, then please do correct me nicely. I noticed someone who's not even in the top 100 has been giving the 'wrong advise' to people and has a very aggressive approach, e.g. calling some people idiots who give the wrong advise. NO,NO, NO! We're just like in any workplace were you need to show respect to those who have gone up the ranks and are giving you the right advise and solutions to your problems. The only difference is that we don't get paid for what we do here, as WE ARE ALL LEARNING one way or the other.

p.s. Beekay, it actually takes longer than you think, before we get into Google authorship, it took me 2 months before my image appeared, and it's just for my main topic, not my homepage site.
I'll have to do the lesson. I've had my google authorship on my blog for months (I learnt how to do it in another course) and my pic still doesn't show up :(.
I couldn't grasp the whole training in WA video because of the guy's strong (Irish?) accent (not that I'm blaming him). So I had to go and search someone else's blog. I went to Scott Buehler's 'Ultimate Guide to Google Authorship' lately. The tips are : make sure your your profile name in Google + account matches your name (as author) in pages of your website, and that you have an email for your website that shows your domain. Ex jenny@modestlyjen.com. Scott gives different ways to use Google authorship, and I find his writing very easy to understand. But that's just from me. Always check Kyle's training first.
hi Timshazz, check boomergp08's link, (WA's) and if you're not into video & find it difficult to understand, you can always check out other's by searching. I found Scott Buehler's training on Google Authorship 'Ultimate Guide to Google Authorship'. It actually took me 2 months before my image appeared next to my main topic/blog, and it's not even on my site homepage yet, that's why I made sure I followed every step from Scott's tips. Good luck.

Hi Larold, no need to stress about the social media. Valuable content is the most important element for a website. Then it'll be easier for you to connect with people when you're ready.
Congrats Jen, I know everything that you learn here works. I want my websites to be full of content first. I will worry about keywords soon , you can change and adjust them any time. Good work keep it up.
You're right Steve, my keywords are not in the top ones if I go to Jaaxy, but as long as I keep improving my site, and my rank is fine in Google Search, Ill keep eyeing on the right keywords. Thanks for reminding me, well appreciated.
Sounds like a plan. My site is evolving little by little and getting more traffic each week. Like you, I'm tweaking here and there to see what works and what doesn't.

Many are completely new to the game and are looking to others for help. We joined here to learn. If someone posts something that is wrong then please be polite with your response to them and explain why they are wrong. No one likes to feel stupid. HI boomergp08, yes, I did go to Google chrome, incognito mode, and my website is showing on page 1 and number 1 for the keyword that I mentioned. My image on 10 steps to a Balanced and Positive life is indeed there, and is on number 3 , page 1. It doesn't really matter, where it's sitting at this stage.
I mentioned the main topic (10 Steps... with my image on it), if this is what Google recognizes, then that's fine with me. Thanks again for alerting me.
You are correct. It doesn't really matter that much where on Page 1 you are as long as you are on Page 1. Your position will jump around up and down as time goes on and other content is indexed by Google.
Just keep producing content and make sure to share that Page 1 content on Social Media to help keep it's higher rankings. Congrats!
Congrats! I searched your keywords and saw your Authorship image next to - 10 Steps to a Balanced and Positive Life - on Google Page 1 position 3. I also saw your website - Life Can be Good - De-stress Your Life - on Google Page 2 position 8 and with no image.
Did you do your search of your keywords using Incognito Mode in Google Chrome or Private Browsing in FireFox? If you didn't then the results you got back are not accurate. You MUST use one of these two modes when searching your keywords because Google saves browsing history and cookies on your hard drive and also ties them to your ISP address. So even if you were to log out of Google and do the search, your search results would be wrong.
By using Incognito Mode or Private Browsing it allows you to search Google as someone other than you and bypass the info saved on your hard drive. That is why I see different results than you.
Oh, thanks boomer, I'll have to do this ASAP. Will get back to you. You're right I have no image with my website title, but only with my one main topic, which I did mention in my blog.
