Motivation from Claudia Schiffer

As some of you know I live just outside the historic town of Lavenham, the town was initially founded in 1086 and is a tourist hotspot for anyone interested in history.

But what many people do not know is I live 10 houses away from the German supermodel Claudia Schiffer, who was huge in the 90's and who's images can still be found on shampoo bottles to this day.

Now before you think I am saying that we exchange pleasantries over the garden fence I am not, Claudia's drive is nearly half a mile long, and as such I have never seen the lady, although both my children have met her.

Claudia lives here in Coldhams Hall

Anyway I was out walking my Labrador "jessie" on one of the public footpaths that cross her hundreds of acres of land the other day and was struck by the similarity between what she did and what we are doing here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Because at the end of the day, Claudia Schiffer is a brand, she promoted that brand, she built that brand, she sold products using that brand and later on other people used her brand to sell products, and she made a cut on those sales, Claudia however attractive did all this before the internet.

Sometimes people and situations outside of what we do, help us build clarity about what it is we are trying to achieve.

Great...but she looks like Chelsea Handler...so sad..

Thank you for sharing

Great pictures, Jeff, thanks for sharing. And yes, it´s often during things like strolls, bathing, or a simple visit to the loo that we think of the most profound things.

Thank for sharing

Looks like an interesting and nice village! :)
Say hello to Claudia, when you see her! :))))

First of, great pics Jeff. I totally agree with you, there is a difference between a brand and a product. We can always change the products that we advertise and promote but our brand will always remain constant and will never change. Her brand is a perfect example of this. Thank you for sharing.

beautiful countryside and you're right we're creating and promoting our brand---a few years ago in a speech I incorporated a story called the Fuzzy Tale and would then hand ut those little furry weepoles who had adhesive on their feet that would stick to any surface---that story was to brand me with the furry weepoles

The Fuzzy Tale can be found in the book Scripts People Live

Foarte interesant

Looks like I was in the wrong profession in the 80's. I could have had a mansion by now lol. I understand what you mean though. It's all about branding and promotion in the right way.

How interesting! The village is beautiful and what an interesting neighbor to have even if you've never met. Years ago I lived just around the corner from a musician named James Brown. He's rather infamous around here.

And, I agree, we can learn a lot from those around us and the similarities of what they do to what we do. I think there's a term for that. It's very similar to what's known as "transfer of skills". That's when something we know how to do has enough similarity to another task or job that the skill can transfer to something that would typically be considered quite different.

Thank you for an interesting post!
