Facebook And Business

Today I am going to share some things about Facebook and Business that I hope is going to save you from wasting time, but much of this is from my own experience, so you can consider what I am going to share and decide what you want to use and what you don't.

How Facebook Helps Your Business

Even though I am not a fan of using Facebook for my business, it does have its benefits that you should know about, you see most people are not going to see dramatic traffic or sales by using this social media website. You will benefit from those who follow you and like, share, and comment on your blog posts. Every one of these helps your post and website to move up a little more in ranking with the search engines, so this is really how using this is going to benefit your business the most. The more followers the more success you are going to experience of course, so this should be your main priority on Facebook to succeed.

Personal Pages

You are going to do much better using your personal page to promote your blog posts than creating a business page, and when I started I thought just the opposite would happen. You see most people have way more followers on their personal pages than they will by creating a business page, so if you are going to choose between them I would go with a personal page myself. Everyone who sends me a friend request that I accept ends up on my personal page, and for them to be on my business page they must first find my page and then follow my page.

Business Pages

By creating a business page you can benefit by opening a Facebook shop on your page, and if you are able to get a lot of followers who are active you might do pretty well with your page. What I figured out over the years is Facebook holds back sharing your posts to as many people from your business page compared to your personal page, and the reason they do this is to force you to use their Facebook Ads. So if you are in the position to use their ads and really want to, you will need this type of page. As for me, I don't pay for advertising or marketing, I earn all my traffic for free. One more thing you need to know about business pages is you will receive more people to see you posts by posting once or twice per day, so when you post any more than that each of your posts usually will only been seen by one or two people.

Facebook Groups

Groups are your best alternative to combine with your personal page strategy, and you should join three to five groups within your own niche. I find this number of groups is just about the right amount to be active regularly, and when you join more than this amount you will find being active in that many groups is really a challenge. Now if you are only going to use Facebook you could go with more groups, but I really think using only Facebook is a waste of your valuable time.

How To Choose The Best Groups To Join

You should join any groups that you are promoting their products on your website, and this helps you learn more about their products and meet others who are promoting the same affiliate program as you. This is an awesome strategy to learn what works and what doesn't from more experienced marketers in your niche and affiliate program, so this really should be the first group you join. Here is what I look for in other groups I am going to join, and this might help you choose the best groups as well?

  • You can post your blog posts in the group
  • How many members are in the group
  • Number of posts daily
  • How active are the members
  • The group promotes asking questions
  • The group works together as a team

Remember these are groups in your niche besides your affiliate program groups, you will find most of your affiliate groups are not going to allow you to post your blog posts but they do allow you to ask questions.

Shopping Groups

Shopping groups are good group to join if you are interested in posting your products and services, and you see many groups allows you to post affiliate links and Facebook does to. So these are another type of group you might want to consider joining if you want to promote your products and services, but you must be sure it is allowed in every group before you join and all groups don't allow this, and you will get banned from the group and be on Facebook s bad side.

How Groups Work

Groups get more of their posts exposed to more people than individual pages, and the reason is you have all the members posting in the group and if they are active more people will see your posts. As the group grows in members and is more active the more exposure your posts will get, so that is why you want to join a group with more members plus check how active the group is before you join them.

Creating Your Own Group

Creating your own group is not for everyone, you do have more work put on you to manage the group. This can take time away from your own business especially when your business is new, so it is better for most people to create their own group after their business becomes established and is earning a steady income.

My Group

My business group is growing steady with more and more exposure to my members blog posts, but some members joined the group and have not posted and are not even active in the group. So really you should be sure before joining a group you have the time and the motivation to work as a team, but I am more than happy with my groups progress in the short time it has been on Facebook. I provide free business resources on my group which is something not many groups do, but this is my way of thanking my members for joining my group.

Facebook And Business

This is what I have learned and experienced on Facebook over the years, but that does not mean that you can't create a business page and do very well. Much of it depends on your time and effort you can put into your page, and a Facebook shop might bring you more followers if that is something you want to do. I feel most of you will find there are certain social media sites your niche is going to do better on than on others, and so I really think much depends on your niche how well you do on Facebook.

I hope this helps some of you understand how Facebook works better,

Jeff

Thanks for your useful sharing here, Jeffrey!

Recently I know someone who makes use of Fb groups to sell online course. He makes good use of FB groups and builds great network there. He does not place any ads when selling online course.

I think Facebook now values engagement of posts more than videos. If you want your posts to reach more people, try to post questions to engage audience.

    Thank you for sharing,

It is good to see your smiling face again

    Jeff

Many of you might know I love FB for organic traffic, it does take work and consistency to get it to pay off but the rewards are there.

Great info Jeff. I think the biggest takeaway from this is to use your personal profile. I know lots of people say yeah but I use it for photos of my kids and to keep in touch with my family. If you really want to use FB to drive traffic you need to treat it like your second website, FB is a great business tool when used correctly.

    Thank you, Heidi

I know myself I have had the most success with my personal page and my groups than with business pages, and I am very happy you are using Facebook with success

    Jeff

thank you for sharing. i have been trying to build up my facebook profile but it is taking more effort than i anticipated. i agree they seem to want you to advertise everthing you do. will this help me? who knows i may try it one day to find out.
    take care and stay safe

I really have experienced more success with combining my blog posts and personal posts on my personal page, and since people who befriend you business and personal end up on your personal page this is where you are going to have the most followers and be sure to post fun posts and not just business on your page

Thank you Jeffrey for your post. Very helpful. I have joined groups on FB in the past but for hobbies I have. I have to explore a group that shares same products or interests that my website is all about. For some reason I have not thought of it because of busy learning and what topic to write next. Definitely joining a group that has same interests as your website will be helpful. We all have to keep on exploring, the more avenues the better. Thanks very much!

I am happy this post has given you some new strategies to add to your marketing plan and promoting your blog posts are just as important as writing them which many people get so caught up in writing and depending on the search engines they are missing out on the benefits of free social media marketing

It takes time and effort but be patient

    Jeff

Are use Facebook for fun and to pass time. It can be a time suck.

I also use it to target niche audience is with paid advertising. They have a pretty extensive database of interests and demographics.

Are used to do life events, but now with the pandemic I am doing “online” webinars.

I use Facebook advertising connected with EventBrite to capture the leads, and EventBrite is integrated with my Email Automated Sequence.

It worked a lot better before this pandemic, because there is a lot more people online these days.

    I thank you, Brad

I will admit you know more than me about paid advertising I have earned my income for years with free traffic, and you should write some training on paid advertising to share with the community
