This will be short and sweet!

LEST WE FORGET!

In many countries around the world, armed forces veterans are being remembered and honored for services rendered to their respective countries! Many suffering permanent injury, and many more paying the ultimate price!

We should always be cognizant of their selfless sacrifices! These are and were brave Men and Women all!

Please take a moment today and thank a veteran!

Respectfully,

Jeff Brown

US Army 1985-1991

Thank you for your service too, Mel! Marines go in and take the beaches, the Army lumbers in behind and holds them!

Much respect!

Mel

Wow, Mel, Salamat! πŸ™ Before you know it, I'll be a speaker! Maybe you should teach the language--another niche, perhaps? πŸ€”

Jeff

No thanks, Jeff. I know only basic words. Perhaps Melissa Jeane when she gets older. :-)

Mel

Perhaps, then, Mel! Btw, congrats on being the featured commenter, Marine!

Semper Fi!

What a coincidence, Zach! Pretty cool!

Jeff

Awesome, Zach! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ ( I tripled it!)

Yeah, that is a pretty cool coincidence, because I just did it early today.

Zach

Wow, Zach! We must have been on the same wavelength! How cool is that?

Jeff

Yea that's cool, it must have been the good old Vulcan Mind-meld... lol.

Zach

I'll go with that, Zach!

πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘

First off thank you for your service. I wish my health would have allowed me to enlist but I found other ways to serve the community at home.

Our brave men and women both served and serving are a shining example of the Rotary International motto of Service Above Self. I salute all military, fire and law enforcement and will admire your strength and courage always.

Very awesome and much appreciated, Andy! Your heart was in the right place, and I appreciate all you have done behind the scenes, my friend!

Jeff

Hey, Jeff

GREAT Post!

I never had the honor of serving in the military. However, my uncles were all in the Army during WW II. One of them was wounded in battle and received a Purple Heart.

For all WA members and others reading this that served or are currently serving, Happy Veterans Day, and THANK YOU for your service!!πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‘πŸ‘

Frank

Much appreciated, Frank! You serve in an equally important post already as a medical professional! Much respect right back to you, my friend!

JeffπŸ™

Thanks, Jeff!😊

You're very welcome, Frank! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Thanks for reminding me, Jeff. Local restaurants and other stores are always generous with free meals and discounts, which is nice. It is a source of pride to have served as an army officer, and especially so since it seems that fewer and fewer men and women have had that opportunity with the removal of the draft. My ROTC, active duty and reserve commitment was 10 years and I often wonder about how I might have enjoyed a career if I had so chosen.

You bet, Richard! I doubt I'll get there to enjoy any of those, but it is a nice gesture of appreciation and respect by the businesses!

I know what you mean about thinking what a career in the Military might have been like. My total time served was six years! I had a friend who got out in 1991 like I did, went back to his home state of Montana, and worked construction for 15 years, then rejoined the Army during the 2007 Surge, and retired just a month ago as an E&! I guess he had the BEST of both worlds!

I have so much respect for all who manage to go the distance, and I was proud to have served, just like I know you are!

Jeff

Thank you for your service.

Yes, indeed!

Lovely post.
I really love how the US supports and shows respect to their veterans.
Sometimes here in the UK our veterans are forgotten heroes. They may suffer disabilities, PTSD, suffer with substance misuse issues and as a result homeless or even incarcerated, local support is sometimes lacking.
I hope one day all veterans can go on to lead fulfilling lives...be shown huge respect.

Jeffrey thank you for your post, I love that you wrote this post for WA community πŸ™

I love your thoughtful sentiments, Cordelia! Sadly some of our veterans suffer those same tragedies as yours do! There should never be any one of them that should have to go through that!

We all have a lot of work to do!

It was my pleasure posting this reminder, and an equal pleasure to read your thoughtful response!

JeffπŸ™

Aww, You are so lovely...πŸ™ˆ

Thanks, Cordelia! You are lovelier!

Jeff
