Shadow the Blog Dog and His Behind-the Scenes Sister, Star

Most of you know my faithful blog writing assistant, Shadow, and a few of you even know Star, his sister who sometimes lends inspiration to her larger brother! They are featured predominantly in many of my blogs, and give me inspiration when I am outside on my "thinking deck" contemplating the subject material for my next blog post. Sometimes Star is absent, but Shadow is always by my side silently urging me on with his patient gaze.

There has never been a time as I'm studying the training or contemplating what to write next either in my novels, my blog posts here at Wealthy Affiliate, or even content in my website when Shadow has not been near--unless I'm at another location. Occasionally Star will show up and lend a paw to her brother.

When they are together, Shadow and Star can sometimes be a distraction though, so usually I have to take a break and observe their antics, playing with them a little.

When I'm out on the "thinking deck", it is funny to watch them playing with something as simple as a stick! They both seem so serious when they are doing that! (not to mention, ridiculously cute).

They are a welcome distraction when I have been working on the computer too long, or have had a long day at my regular job as a locksmith.

It's GREAT that they can be an inspiration to me when I am working on my endeavors in Wealthy Affiliate. I couldn't have them around if I was working a regular 9-5 job, nor can I easily take them out on my service calls either--even if it was just Shadow.

Since I first introduced Shadow, and then eventually Star into my blogs, I've been noticing that others have sometimes sent a thumbnail image of their pet, and I've even seen a few loyal "assistants" featured in other members' blogs, as well.

I thought it would be interesting to see how many people could respond with a description or story of their loyal assistants, and perhaps a photo of those all important helpers. They are as much a part of this platform as their owners.

WHAT DO YOU SAY WEALTHY AFFILIATE MEMBERS--WHO ARE YOUR FAITHFUL BEHIND-THE-SCENES ASSISTANTS?

This isn't our dog, but we've adopted him in a way, Jeff. Abandoned by previous owner the dog faithfully hangs around out front. Wen feeds him leftovers. I started buying him meat jerky.

We had a scare, but today he showed up unharmed. There was a major dog fight 2 days ago and German Shepherds were involved. We thought Itzboy was hurt or killed since he never returned. I think someone else may have had him stay in there fenced area for protection so he was unable to return right away. Other people were furious and took the dog owner to task for the dog fight. He gathered up his dogs and put them back inside his compound.

Just some more drama. :-)

Mel

Looks like some kind of Jack Russell Terrier from behind, Mel!

Jeff

I have no idea what it is Jeff. Maybe I'll have to try and get a side profile shot while he's standing some time. I'm not a dog person. :-)

Mel

I used to have a female dog of his persuasion named Wiggleworm! She was a JRT!

Jeff

I'll try to email some pics Jeff.

Mel

Sounds good, Mel!

Jeff

It kicked me out! I was just answering you why I can't add my doggies here: I did not transfer my pictures when I bought the new phone this weekend and had the old Samsung scrapped of all content.
So I went through my photo drawer to send you at least my scanned in old photo of my Great Dane and Irish Wolfhound in Bavaria and it scanned it as pdf and I am frustrated. There is this 5x8 picture in the corner of a white page and I don't know how to crop it. I can't import it into paint or so because it is not jpg but pdf and I can't fiddle with converting it right now.
Any suggestions?
I also scanned a picture were those giants are standing next to me...as comparison laugh.
Help.

hi take a picture of your dogs from your phone and then if you connect your phone to the laptop there should be an automated message in front of your screen after a moment that will be giving you options on how you can save your picture on your computer.

If it doesn't work for you, which I doubt it won't, you can also try emailing the photo from your phone to your email or your partner's email then save/download the picture to your computer.

I also email the pictures to my computer because every now and then they don't download, Florentino!

You can also right click on the photo and reduce it and use the paperclip to send it here!

In training now, will do later tonight. You are in for a treat;)

Cool--I can't wait, Petra!😎

I always use methods two. Can I resize it then? I was spoiled with the iPhone having that option offered automatically.

You can!

yup

πŸ‘πŸ‘

Oh! Are you sure they cleared it?
My deactivated, still has old contacts and pictures. I'm always going to that old list, when I know I had that number.
Hope you can retrieve.
Barb

Nope. Cleaned it for new user.

COPY IT THEN PASTE IT INTO WORD THEN COPY IT AGAIN AND IT WILL NOW PASTE INTO PAINT SHOP PRO FOR ANY ADJUSTMENTS

Ha-haa!
I know those eyes... !!
Michi will plant herself firmly and do the stare!!!
Unlike Shadow, Jeff... Michi could fit in my purse, and goes everywhere with me!!
Except over- night at the Casino!
She knows when she's going on a road-trip, and ...when she's not!!
Not a pretty picture. She pouts and ignores me... Not good at Good-bye kisses either!
She is always just the break I need, when we take things too seriously.
Thanks, for sharing your loveable rays of sunshine!
It's a rainy day gray in Houston, and this just added the sunshine!!
Thanks you, Jeff!
Barb

Michi sounds like a dog I had in the past, Barb!

I'm sure! Sadly, I'm now her eyes... she still plants herself, but has little vision.
She can't run after squirrels and has gained weight. I'm having to moderate her food intake and get her out walking, when she did that without my help.
Entered a new chapter...Jeff.
Barb

She's on my profile...joined at the hip!

Okay--so post her here too, Barb!

It sounds like it, Barb!

I'll work on that today, after I take care of to-do's, Jeff!
Must learn how!!
Thanks for the push;)
Barb

If you need help, let me know, Barb!

Baby, You'll be the first, I head too.

You bet, Barb--I appreciate that!

Jeff, I taped a meeting to listen to my voice... I don't sound as bad as I feared!!
Barb

That's Great, Barb--you probably sound just fine!

Teacher's projections and enthusiasm!
I was pleased that I would have wanted to be listening to this gal!!
You don't know without checking, Jeff!
I was pleasantly surprised.
Barb

Luv your post, Jeff, and the pics of other people's writing assistants as well. My Leia is a "pointador" 1/2 pointer, 1/2 black lab, 100% chicken! She's afraid of her own shadow. (But would probably love running and playing with yours.) I don't know how to do a thumbnail, but will be writing a post about her and including a pic when I do. She looks somewhat like Shadow, but her eyes aer darker brown. She gets that same wrinkled expression on her forehead when she's thinking about something.

That's awesome Carol! To load a picture of her just click on the paperclip which will bring up your images, click on your photo and it will appear here.. then type a title that is at least nine characters long then you're done!

They speak with their eyes...Windows of their souls...

All that simple clicking is great, Jeff, IF one can locate the picture!
I need a system for saving pics, and finding them. All mine seem to be in several areas of my computer, and that was my problem yesterday!
Where the Bleep is that?
Barb

I save to the pictures, downloads, screenshots, etc. Barb!

They do, indeed, Barb!

No albums and stuff?
I'm thinking consistent. Do you name each picture?
Anyway, I brain blipped on Star!!! WT? Barb? Stars are always on my mind!!
I now have a hook! Won't be so rude next time Star!
Barb

Star does not contribute on too many of my blog posts, Barb--perhaps she feels like she has better things to do! πŸ™„

Jeff, Perhaps, Star is the "Wind beneath Shadow's Wings!"
She's happy in a supportive role, while Shadow takes center stage! Ha!
Barb

That's very possible, Barb! I never thought of it that way!πŸ‘πŸΆπŸΆ

Wink!

Thanks for the info, Jeff. Sorry to be so late getting back to you. Have been extremely busy with doc appts., etc. Not getting much else accomplished, but hopefully we'll have some answers today. Seeing endocrinologist for his goiter that was discovered last Friday by his PCP.

So true.

I know exactly what you mean, Barb. Half the time, I can't find the pic I want, and it's so frustrating!

No worries--that's more important!

I have one that lays at my feet when I type at my computer. His name is Petey. He is one of three that we have in our home.

Brindy is another and she is Petey’s β€œolder sister” and is not very sociable and dislikes sitting with me when I type. She would rather lay in her bed than be at my feet or even near me for that matter when I am in the dining room.

And then there is the newest fella in the house... Charlie. Unfortunately, he is crated at the moment due to his food aggression and we are unsure of his compatibility with Brindy or the other way around... Brindy’s compatibility with him.

Charlie and Petey are pictured...I’ll post one of Brindy another time.

Great post, Jeff.

I wish you well,
Bob

I love them Bob--thanks for sharing my friend!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸΆπŸΆ
