I Forgot to Mention that I also purchased FOUR other Domains!

Hello fellow Wealthy Affiliate pioneers!

A rare appearance of my General Jeff persona, but I felt it important to mention that besides Frisatsu.com, I also purchased four other domains that tie into the brand I am building to replace a few other domains that I initially purchased.

I mentioned this in a post yesterday:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jeffreybrown/blog/domain-val...

I am also speculating on whether to try to flip a couple of them in my continuing exploration of domain flipping or domaining!

There is still a lot more research to do, but the more information that I discover, the more I think that I may experiment with one or two, by putting them up for auction. I will be looking into Flippa as the possible platform to do this, and once I am satisfied, I will list them.

This could come as soon as today or tomorrow, but the middle of next week at the latest.

If time permits this weekend, I will be venturing over there again to do some more in depth reading and possibly joining the platform.

I will keep everyone posted!

Wish me luck!

Keep me updated on this. It is not an easy venture, or at least not for me. First off you need to determine the price for your domain which is often in the eye of the beholder and what others are prepared to pay for it. Going to different free valuation sites you will get wildly different results. Paying for a valuation is obviously not an option, unless you know your domain is worth many thousands. I have a couple of places/sources I go to now that helps me to determine what I believe to be a fairly accurate valuation of my domains (in my eyes at least lol).

Now that you have your domain price sorted now where are you going to sell it? Well good luck with Flippa and their absolutely crazy listing prices and likewise is the case with many other similar platforms. Not only do they charge extortionate listing/advertising fees but on top of that if you sell your domain many of these platforms wants to grab 20% or more on the value of your domain sale after you already paid them extortionate listing/advertising fees.

Unless your domain is worth thousands then it becomes a pointless exercise having to pay the above advertising fees as you will end up making zero profit when selling your domain.

So for me at least it is to find platforms to advertise for free. Usually when advertising for free you of course do not get the traction you would when paying for advertising, but it is not like you exactly have any other choice in my opinion lol.

Great, now that you have your domain advertised now you need to decide what payment method you are going to accept and how the transaction is going to work.

If you are going to make use of an Escrow service, guess what. They are now also going to take a big cut from the sale of your domain. Do you not make use of an Escrow service then you may struggle to get a buyer as they will have to trust to pay you for your domain before you do the transfer.

There are certainly ways to go about this process, but just the heads up. If you are new to this, it is not necessarily as simple as it may seem.

I do currently have my domain listed and advertised for free and I am offering PayPal and Escrow as an option, however if Escrow is chosen by the buyer I will expect the buyer to cover the Escrow fees or may go 50/50 on it. Or will provide the option to the buyer to use PayPal and get it cheaper but then going to require trust or use Escrow, play it safe, but going to be more costly.

Another thing to keep in mind is that PayPal sometimes holds money back for a period of 28 days to avoid fraud and to allow for a refund to be initiated if requested by the buyer. So you get this issue too do deal with when using PayPal. As long as you keep all the proof when transferring the domain to present as evidence to PayPal should a refund be requested, then you should be covered.

Thank you, Schalk! I have learned some of this already, but you have filled in many blanks! Much appreciated! If I have any other questions, I will PM you if you don't mind!

Jeff

You are most welcome and of course you are welcome to PM at any time.

Great advice

Thank you, Schalk! I need to learn this from experienced people like your self!

Jeff

I won't say I am very experienced in this area yet, but certainly learning.

Well, a lot more experienced than me, as I am a very raw beginner!🙄

Nice domain. Good luck with it. But ive leared not to post anything related to my niche or products promoting.

I did that once and now my space is filled with competion and I know its because i post it here asking a few question.

I get so mad when i see click cost rising just because all the competion.

enough of my rant!

Love the domain and again, much success with it.

Thanks, Mike! I know what you mean, but I have so many different projects at any given time that I hardly worry about others running away with anything! I trust that you are doing well and are having a nice weekend!

Jeff

Kinda having a good weekend. However, Bing Ads is killing me with their review. When you switch out a url, it takes forever for them to review the new landing page.

I am waiting three days now!😒

Mike - I shouldn't put a link for people to purchase the book I published or list my company's website?

I'm not say that. However, I believe you cannot do any promoting here.

It's ok to post you link in a non promoting manner. I was only referring to revealing you niche that is profitable.

I hope it gets better for you soon, Mike!

Jeff

You can put this on your personal profile page for members to find, Lisa!

Jeff

Best formula for Flippa is to throw a mini site up with 20-30 post on a related search term and auction the ready site. If you can get a few pages to rank and some traffic flowing will help improve your projected 24 month earnings and thus the final selling price of 18-24 months revenues.

That is definitely good information to know, Andy, and I remember months ago reading a post with similar information. Right now, I'm getting my feet wet with simple domains first! That is an interesting idea though, and I am glad you brought it up! I hope you are doing well!

Jeff

A couple days of sleep and I am ready for an all nighter to get some unfinshed finished.

I'm still dragging along, Andy, but not for much longer!

1800 words later we have a bang up post just needing SEO to be a good driver of traffic. I demand Google rank me instead of waiting lol.

SEO later and it finished at 2010 words. By the time I added a CTA it was 2020 a good omen lol.

I would say so! Well done, Andy!

Jeff

Yes we have been wanting to do this so are you going to build content for them?
Did you just buy them to flip them some of them are expensive. This is great GOOD LUCK and tell us all about it. This is lots of homework to do and prepare for.
But we know you got this.

Cheers,
Mathew&Deloris;

I am in the process of listing an empty domain right this minute, and site support is helping facilitate the final step. then i will have more to report! Thanks, Mathew & Deloris!

Jeff

G'day Jeffrey,
There is a bit of work involved with getting these domains ready for sale. I still have domains on Godaddy, CrazyDomains and Wealthy Affiliate.
I have mine listed on Afternic and I think they have some deal going with GoDaddy, because if the TXT records of your domain is on GoDaddy Afternic can access it ( think I have that right).
https://www.afternic.com/
.
I have had to get on to site support for the TXT records of some domains I have hosted on WA. and submit those to Afternic. Getting the TXT record out of GoDaddy or Crazy Domains was no big deal.
Understanding the process on Afternic and having them listed properly took a small learning curve. I seemed to be going back and forth from there to GoDaddy for a little bit.

Currently I have 10 listed on Afternic.

I want to get a little more pro active in selling them so I have been over to hostgator. and Jay has a video too.

https://www.hostgator.com/blog/how-sell-domain-name/ Michael.

Thanks a million for this, Michael! I have already put a site support ticket in to Site support! I am in MY learning curve now! Trial by 🔥
