And A GREAT Time Was Had By All!
Hello everyone at Wealthy Affiliate!
July 4th for me was a whirlwind--a BLUR, if you will! A lot of beer drinking throughout the day with friends and family at a couple of places.
First of all, I assisted my sister-in-law, Sharon, with re assembling the table and two chairs that she sanded down, cleaned, and repainted.
They really turned out quite nice. I think I have a couple more over at the warehouse from this set which I will bring over next!
I plan on doing a short post on the start to finish "restoration" of these 1970s relics.
As the day progressed, I took stock of the growing amount of fireworks accumulating on her picnic table as family members continued to pour in the nearer it got to showtime! Each deposited their load on the table.
There was a large cookout where we ate burgers, hot dogs, ribs, potato and macaroni salads (both home made, not store bought), chips and dips, beans, and for dessert--cheese cake!
Not long after that, a military buddy of mine, who I served with was over at another military buddy's house, and called me to come over and have some beers. I agreed, but told him that I had the obligation to be at my family's fireworks display when it got dark!
My wife, Monica took me over there. We talked about current events and drank and caught up with each other. Right before I left, I had a picture taken with four of them that I served with in the late 1980s. (I'm second from left with a beer in my hand).
We arrived home just in time to get the fireworks under way.
Here's just a sampling of what we saw during the hour long "show" This does not include all the fireworks in the sky all around us!
It was probably one of the best I've been to and as I said in the Title to this Blog post--"A Great time was had by all!"
I'm so glad that Wealthy Affiliate exists and that I've made so many friends here with whom I can share these things with!

Fireworks!! The fun part of the 4th of July!!
I'm happy to see you had a good time yesterday... we did our own little private show as well (even If everyone else down the road could see them too). Sorry, no pics.

So happy for you, General Jeff. Wish I'd been there. Sometimes, we don't know how good we have it until it's all taken away. I'm glad this wasn't the case for you guys. Content and peaceful thoughts always follow sound merriment.😎

Sounds good :). I like that you have such a large family that contributes to the fireworks. A place to gather together and enjoy each other's company.
The teens and I went to my folks for bbq and then we came home before dark. Parents came over to watch fireworks around us. The moon was one big firework in itself (HUGE!) there were fireworks behind our house, in front, and the neighbor to the side. James, one of my twin boys, had bought some smoke bombs....it was so funny. He lost one of his adult "crackers" somewhere in the area and his twin brother was helping him find it. Little white poppers they throw on the ground, adult ones that are red and make a very loud pop. Hopefully it was a dud. Dad laughed hard asking me what they were doing. We also saw some very interesting lights (7 of them) I thought they were drones (because they were fairly low) but they went far distance (disappeared as quickly as they came). No sound of like an airplane, so I figured it was some drones. Who knows....Aliens scoping us out...LOL
It might have been aliens, Lisa! 👽👽 You never know! 🤪
