Hello, everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a GREAT start. It has been a long day for me--busy with all sorts of things, and it just seemed like today flew by. The weather was dismal, but tolerable. I thought I would take a moment to share a photo of my old warehouse complex which used to be an old mill--the first to generate electricity in my town of Junction City, Kansas!

These are only a couple of pictures that I had handy to download. The weather has not been too cooperative in allowing me to take more! The front building in the cover photo is an old scale house that was built in 1912, and the above picture is the rear section of the large Warehouse building that you can just see in the left portion of the cover picture.

Eventually, I will be doing a series of the grounds surrounding and the contents within this building. Wealthy Affiliate in many ways is just like this building--so many things to offer just under the surface, but a lot of work is required to organize them into a coherent and money-making enterprise! Right Shadow? EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE & PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND!

Oh this is awesome thank you and you are so right.
Bricks and mortar buildings start with a good solid foundation.

Just like how the Free starter training starts off.
Building something on solid foundations and turning it into something amazing.

Hopefully something that stands the test of time too. Perfect analogy here for growing our own online businesses too. Foundations are needed. :)

Love looking at old buildings.
Thank you Jeff. :)

You're very welcome, Debs! So kind of you to stop by! The sun cooperated today and came out, so I took scads more exterior pictures for the next installment sometime tomorrow evening. I also still have to finish the eBay house series too!🙄

Have a GREAT new week, my friend!

You too Jeff (❁´◡`❁)

Thank you--I will savor every last moment, Debs!

That has to be very significant if it was the first to generate electricity for the entire town - I wonder if the original generators from 1912 are still in there. 🤔

I see that Shadow has given this post his customary seal of approval 🐶 👍

Thanks for the post!
Isaiah 😊

Shadow always has to do that, Isaiah--it's in his contract.

All of the old power-generating machinery is gone, but there are vestiges of equipment from when it was producing feed.

There will be more to come, but I thought I'd give everyone a quick preview!

Enjoy your weekend, my friend!

Hello Shadow, where is Star? :)
Have a nice weekend, Jeff and stay warm!
Lenka

You too, Lenka! Star is sleeping in one of the girls' rooms!

No wonder you have so many cars. You have all the space in the city to fit them in. Also, all your eBay stuff. That's awesome for you and those buildings are awesome. We have had a lot of older buildings here but the city is starting to take them down as they are just sitting empty.
Douglas

I know, it's really a shame, isn't it, Douglas! Likely when they are replaced it will be with more of the substandard crap they throw-up these days!-

Yea throws them up in ten minutes tear them down in five years. Junk builders, they should be called.
Douglas

Oh, don't I know it, my friend!

I have seen a lot of buildings go up in my time as a plumber and I have seen at least 10 have a full remodel done to them within 5-6 years. Sometimes it's a different business altogether.
Douglas

Yes, Douglas! I've seen that happen a time or two--says "Remodel to suit" on bill board on the building that is for rent!

It is really crazy how the world works now. Years ago you made it work in the business for your family now it seems like nobody cares about the family aspect just making money. If you aren't making enough money then just shut the doors.
Douglas

Exactly! It's a very sad statement of today's society and generation!

I don't think it will get any better. We have been looking for some younger people male or female to come help and learn. Nobody wants to work at all these days. I do but want to make money here as well just to help with all the extra trips that I would like to take. I am not trying to be a millionaire until next week.
Douglas

I hear you, Douglas--a very sad state of affairs with this younger generation!

What you gonna do. Might find 1 out of 10 that wants to work hard.
Douglas

Yes, Unfortunately, that one is the exception to the rule, Douglas!

wow cool old pics thanks Jeff!

Best, John

Thanks, John! there will be a lot more better ones soon!
