Hi Jeff,

I think that cruises is a topic that you seem more comfortable with based on your comment but you would have to get a little more focused. The cruise topic is a pretty big area but if you can find a specific area of cruising that you thing that you can right about, then you should target that. You can start with one area and after you get a solid foundation with that, you can focus into another aspect of cruising.

Maybe something like talking about the results of cruises or advice for successful cruises. But in that area I am sure that you would need to do a lot more cruising to prove your expertise in that area.

Here or some domains I thought might give you some ideas and they are all available.
cruiseadvice4you.com
cruiseshipsecrets.com
cruiseshipscams.com
mycruiseresults.com
yourbestcruises.com
thebestcruises4you.com

cruiseshipscams.com would be an area where you could do reviews of your experience, or review different packages that people complain about. You might even have a page on your site where you could invite people to report scams or bad experiences by leaving comments on that page. Then you could respond to them which helps your search engine rankings.

The wine area could probably be another area where you could hone it down to specific areas and expand later. You could give advice to wine entrepreneurs or individuals looking to make wine at home some advice on how to go about it.

As to creating income with either site, you can become an affiliate for companies you recommend people to take cruises with or related advertising. The same with the wine area, I am sure there are companies that have affiliate programs for wine making supplies or trips to wine country etc. As an affiliate all you need to do is put ads on your site, normally in the right column either text ads or banner ads. And all you really have to do is get the traffic to your sites and when they order something from these companies, you receive a commission. No worries about fulfilling orders, customer service or billing, you just collect the commission checks. If you look at one om my sites at http://creatingincomeathome.com/ and look down the right column you can see where I have my ads.

So those are some of my thoughts.
Thanks
Joe

Hi,
I actually think that the wine niche would be a fantastic niche!
Since you are passionate about it, I suppose that you have a lot of knowledge about how to make wine, how to store it, how to separate a good wine from bad wine.
How to pair it with the right food.
What are good or famous grapes, ...
There is so much you can write about.
I am sure that there are many products you can then recommend to your readers and you can make money from that.
I can imagine that there is quite expensive equipment people need, to make real good wine.
And it is quite obvious that wine enthusiasts spend a lot of money there.

As to your other idea.
It is good, too.
I would narrow it down a bit. For example, focus on a specific region. Or go "low budget". Or the opposite: "luxury cruises".

Just some ideas. :)

Cheers
Moritz

Thank you. I feel I talk more about the cruise ships and vacations to more people than the wine, however not much coming up in the keyword searches. Low traffic. I am going to research the wine idea and see what results I can get from that. Thanks for the input, it got the wheels turning. Really appreciate it. Hope I can help out others someday once I get a good grasp of WA.

Yeah, don't worry too much about it.
Go with what feels best to you at the moment.
Once you have more experience, finding keywords will get much easier.
When I started, I thought I wouldn't find topics anymore after only a few articles.
Now, after 100+ articles on my main site, I still find enough to write about. ;)

I over analyze all the time. Bad habit for me. Thanks again. Hope to have if figured out this weekend so I can create my website.
