I am having problem with lesson 6 as I wanted to update my website's home title and home description, when I click the button, the page changed to "no data received". Please he

Hello,

Do you have GoDaddy as domain registrar?
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/updating-posts-results-in-no-data-received

Or maybe you have a cache plugin?
(But that would surprise me if you are only at lesson 6...)

Grtz,
Bert

Thank you Ignorant, I have tried all the "solutions" that they have suggested including deactivate my plugins but it doesnt seem to work. What is GoDaddy? I followed all the steps as Kyle said in the video, so might be not? Btw, why are you surprise thatI am only at lesson 6?

Godady is a company where you can register a domain name and on the internet I found a lot of posts regarding GoDaddy and the error you posted... And Godaddy is popular here at WA...

No no, I am not at all surprised that you are ALREADY at lesson 6...
But it would surprise me that you already had installed a cache plugin on your website when you are "only" at lesson 6, cause that is not exactly the location in the courses where you would do such a thing...
But I definitely did not want to offend you or something like that...

I've tried delete my website and start it all again still, I am facing the same issue. I have followed all the things that were said in the starter video and at lesson 6 I should already activate all the plugins provided because it should be done in lesson 5, I have no problem in activating them, but I have problem in updating my "all in one SEO".

I would remove thye alli in one seo and install yoast seo...
That's the one I use myself...

The video game that I want to choose is Dota2. I think it is 1 of the popular e-sport in the world. Please do give me some directions and give me advices, I really appreciate i

i have the same idea like you and have the same problem as well. Gamer like singsing make niche about dota2 in his youtube channel, he just playing and keep earning.
I wanna copy like what he did, but making good video is not easy and mostly as far as i know many blog that discuss about dota 2 have similarity like match schedule, player profile, and match review.
Until this point i ask for myself should i make dota 2 blog like others did or else. Any advice would be great, thanks.

So instead of choosing a specific game it would be better to choose the manufacturer of the game to create wider niche? I was thinking of choosing video games myself, but I'm weighing out the pros and cons I suppose.
I love the Elder Scrolls as well, its a great RPG game.

It seems a bit limited unless you feel you can expand on it. I would only find your site if I was looking for one game. It's a product more than a niche. What if you chose free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena video games? That way you could elaborate on more than one game. I just am not sure what people would buy besides the one game. It doesn't seem to leave you a lot of room to make a steady income.

For instance, if I wanted to do a website in the health niche about working out losing weight, I could choose motorized treadmills over manual instead of picking one specific model. Once I wrote about that, I wouldn't really have anywhere else to go except maybe workout add-ons but then it could be too unrelated.

This is just my opinion. I love all the Elder Scrolls games but I probably wouldn't pick Oblivion to write about specifically. Maybe Bethesday games or certain types of RPG games.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Allison, if that's the case do I really need to know the details of other games that are going to be my niche?

Well I am not an expert, just learning from others here at WA and working my way through the training so take what you will from what I am saying. I think you should consider your site layout, theme and some questions..

What do you want to gain from creating this site? What do you want to write? What related products could you sell as an Amazon affiliate? Are there other affiliate programs you could use to your advantage?

If you choose this one specific game to write about then you have to consider that market. You will only reach those people interested in this one particular game. I have never heard of this game, if that gives you an example of where I am going with this. Plus, if you get tired of this game in a year or so then there goes your passion and drive to work on this website.

I know you want to write about a game. Let's start there and break that down. I know a lot of people that love games. We could choose types of games (sports vs rpgs), gaming platforms (Xbox vs Playstation), etc. You could use your game to write about and make your site more of an certain type of gaming site. Why not write about this online multiplayer arena type of games. You could do product reviews for them and use your first choice to compare everything to. Reviews could be one theme on your site menu and you could list Dota 2 as another to sell items related to it. I searched "Dota 2" in Amazon and found 138 listings so there are a lot of items related to it that you could sell.

I just wouldn't want to be too specific. I would worry that I was limiting myself. Hope this helps. I always write out my ideas to help me think and see them on paper.
