Losing steam, or getting sidetracked?

I'm halfway through course 4 of WA Bootcamp. I guess my skepticism is kicking in at this point. Obvi, I haven't seen any results from my webpage, which is fine.. I understand it's still new and I haveta wait for it to be indexed and stuff.

I'm not a fan of the video part. I don't like watching videos explaining content on a website. When I click on a webpage and a video starts screaming at me, I immediately close the window. No joke. So I'm not going to be adding video to my WA site. I'm sure it leverages to some degree, but I'm also sure that there are more people out there like me who don't dig video.

Just sharing. I'm not giving up on WA by any means.. please don't feel that you haveta rub my back and tell me it'll all work out. I'm sure it will. I'm going to be adding a few more review pages to my WA site, and maybe play a little more with my niche site that I've finally come up with.

Thank you all for reading. Most appreciated. Like I said; I'm not giving up.

I am a firm believer in LOA- I read yesterday an excerpt that said basically, "set it and forget it". The more one dwells on something, needing it to happen, the more likely they are to draw negative thoughts and energies to it, making it less likely to happen.

It worked for my postpartum weight loss; the more I focused on it, the more I panicked and the scale just stayed at the same number.. sometimes even increasing a pound here or there. When I stated my goal weight and forgot about it.. like, back-burner-don't-stress-it-just-eat-right-and-you'll-be-fine, I started losing again. Same stinkin' diet I've been doing since December.. go figure!

So.. back burner is where my WA site is going for now. I've done a lot to it as far as tracking and enhancements which haven't been covered in the training yet, but I'm sure will be in the weeks to come. I feel really good about it so far, along with the enhancements. So now I will forget it for a bit and see what comes of it.

Anyone else out there plateaued? Am I the only one who doesn't wanna do the video aspect of it? Please share with us your experience; even if it's a negative one. It's good to get a view from all angles!

Hi Jeannette, I like short videos, I do like them if they give me the information I need, but I don't like anything too long.
I don't doubt for a minute you will be successful as I read and seen you're site. You're a great writer with a lot of humor. When you start ranking higher i'm sure people will love your site.

At this point, I want to get a review I'm working on done, but the last few days I've had other things come up and I feel that Plateau of life coming in to play. Tomorrow I'm going to get it done because if I don't, I know each day will get harder to get back into things and I will start talking myself out of it.

I know how you feel, but just stay plugged in. Don't let that darn Plateau get you, You got a lot to offer. See you in Vegas! :)

Evelyn thank you. I will stay "plugged in". :)

Lol, don't like videos at all either! :p To each it's own, I think we can be successful without them. Thanks for bringing up that LOA quote. You remember the example that says that if you would order an item, once it's out, you wouldn't keep placing the same order over and over. Makes sense: build your website, work hard but don't fuss and worry! :)

Yes that's it! Ask, believe, receive; don't keep placing the order as though it weren't coming; because if you believe it isn't coming, then it wont!

I hate videos, too. Why should I take my precious time and be forced to spend it on someone I don't even know? Give me a transcript and I'll read it. Throw a video in my face (or email) and I'll delete it.

I confess, I am forcing myself to watch the vids here because I'm paying to be here and I don't want to miss something.

I also realize that we who don't like videos are apparently in the minority. So I will add time-sucking videos to my sites so that other people can watch them.

I don't mind the videos in the training (although its easier on the lessons that don't have them, since ive got little ones running around). It's the videos on websites that just start talking at you as soon as you open the site. I mean, I know I'm growing older and more set in my ways (haha, I'm 36) but the videos on some of these websites just feel like they are pressuring me into something. *click* window closed when I feel that way!

HI Jeannette, I'm not a big fan of video either, as I don't' want to be talking live to millions of viewers (just in case). I'm not telegenic/videogenic/photogenic, etc. in the first place (lol). Kidding aside, if ever I'll do a video on you tube I'd just be staying behind the scene, and present my business through graphics or animation, and probably use my voice( or someone else's voice) to do the talking. In short, you're not the only one. Seeya later.

The behind the scenes thing would work.. My voice is kinda high pitched and crackly, i cant even stand playing karaoke with my kids! Hahaha.

Hey Jeannette...hate to hear that you are in a funk...but, I know you will maneuver your way out of it when it's time. Speaking of vids...thought I'd be clever and add one to a page....that #$$#%% thing starts blaring when you open the page...and I haven't figured out how to shut that guy up yet....aurgh.

So you could say my favor with the medium is lagging about now. If it's a choice to play it ok, but otherwise it's like Musak in elevators.

No back patting - but I do hope your initial rambunctious zeal comes back soon. Happy rejuvenation.

Suz

The zeal is there, just needed some coaxing from a glass of wine!

Hey, a light libation from time to time will cure almost anything! Carry on, my lady.....lol

I am not a video techie either. I have none so far. The only tsocial media that seems to count is Pinterest, so I am concentrating on that.
I guess, you should run your business the way you are most knowledgeable and comfortable with. You can always develop new skills at a later date.
I think it's hard to be proficient in everything all at once.

Oooh I like that! Hard to be proficient all at once! Sounds like a great headline to a new page or post (nudge nudge)

Allright Jeannette..... royalty please!!! LOL

I don't use many videos -- it is a way to keep visitors on your site longer, but good content should do that, too. There's an old expression of "don't should yourself." I know setting goals is good, but there are days writing new content just doesn't happen. I get inspired going for a walk -- it clears my mind and then I can't wait to write new content. The website(s) are to be fun -- not a huge mountain to climb every day. All the best to you.

Thank you! Taking a time out definitely sprouts ideas, and then I cant wait to get back to it!

I don't mind vids myself, but what has stopped me dead in my tracks all week is the WA review, I just can't repeat what everyone else has done a thousand times before me and produce another clone page, on WA.

I just don't want this on my site. I already have two pages all about WA one is like a review but it doesn't say that it is a review. So all that I could put in a review is basically on that page. Plus I don't want to write about the CFM or Affilorama.

I have got 3 other websites and one of them is an anti-scam site, my original niche site, well I have lost interest because there doesn't seem to be a great lot of proof of much in the nutrition niche, just opinions from so called experts.

I think the bottom line with me is that I need to find a source of candidates for referrals for WA. as I have no reach in any of the social media sites, though.

I m 55 in the summer I'm seriously considering going to college in September to take a journalist/media diploma course, providing that I can get it free, which shouldn't be a problem. I plan to stay with WA but need to spread out now, after all I'm sure that I might have wanted some money out of this somewhere along the line

I totally understand the review thing.. I didnt really want to write one either. Maybe just consider that one page you have, as the review? Its good to be different so that all of our sites arent little clones waiting to bombard our readers!

For me its all peaks a vallies. I am in a bit of a slump at the moment, but I sort of managed to sleep-walk my way through a reasonably productive week. This business is a grind and requires a lot of patience, but I am sure you have heard that a million times. I have grinded through a lot of slumps and negative feelings since I started here.

I have found that taking days off really helps; even though its always difficult when a day goes by and no work gets done. I just changed my domain name and I am pretty excited to get back to work next week.

As far as the video thing goes, I am definitely in your boat when it comes to that. I really never watched videos online. However, I still use them, but I also create a text companion that covers the content in the video so that the visitor does not have to watch the video if they don't want to. I have not taken the boot camp courses yet so I am not sure how it is supposed to work for WA sites.

I hope things get better for you, which they will if you keep going.

Thanks for sharing! I think I need to do the day off thing.. I've literally done some kind of time every day since I started.. even if just for a few minutes. Maybe I'm on overload!

I went through this same feeling just last month, and I took time off to go do things that relax me. In doing that, my mind was able to relax and process everything that I had learned here. It didn't take long after that for me to get right back into the swing of it. What you are feeling is natural and is just your body telling you that it is time to relieve some stress. Go do something that you really enjoy and have some fun!

Thanks for sharing! I was a little concerned that I've only been doing this for a month, but I've done a lot in that month!
