Hi Pual,
Not to sound dumb but I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
Is that an error across the site or just on the certain pages?
When I started I just slapped images into posts but after maybe the 3rd post I started sizing all my images on photoshop before adding them to posts so they can be as small as possible. The average size of images since then has been 200kbs,
Could the few large images on the site still be the reason for this loading speed error?
If so I will just quickly resize and compress them also.
I will look into the options you suggested regardless also.
Thanks
Hey Pual
I added site speed and ran ewww image optimizer on my site but if I check the site using google developer tools there has been little change.
Any advice as to what I'm doing wrong?
I'm not an expert also.
What I have learned that there's an advantage to your posts.
The pages remain in your site.
The post will be pinged by WordPress. There will be a viral effect on your posts just like the news which will be syndicated.
I think the posts will be in the RSS feeds. I can really explain how RSS feed work.
That's why our WordPress sites have an RSS feed.
See yours here:
http://woodworkjunkie.com/feed
All posts go in there and no page contents will show up there. The posts in the feeds will be syndicated.
But there are plugins that will allow your pages to appear in your RSS feed.
For me I use pages for my site's info: contact, privacy policy, disclaimer, etc.
For Google, contents in pages and posts are treated the same.
Hey Jean,
How far along in the training are you? Why I ask this is because Kyle suggests making a Disclaimer on a page.
As for which is more important is up to you. I have customers with only pages while my business site is a combination of 3 website, one being pages only ... and my personal blog ... well ... I have lots of blog posts and only 3 pages (5 actually, but 2 are not linked anywhere).
Hope this helps you.
Jean, I am no expert (disclaimer out of the way).
From my understanding it shouldn't make a difference. The important thing is creating new content on a regular basis.
Looking at your site, you have set it up such that a visitor can find the information they want easily enough.
Brendan
Thanks for the reply Brendan. I'm just asking because I don't want to get in too deep and then have to change these things.

Hey Jason,

Hey Jean,
After doing a quick Google search for "Missing Author and missing update" (without the quotation marks, of course) I found the following posts that may offer you the help you seek:

Hope this helps you resolve your issues.
Hey
I followed the second link's instructions you gave me.
I guess now I just have to wait for search console to update and then I'll check it again.
Thanks for the help.
To short the explanation, could be anything. Try press edit again on the work press beside your url and press ok. Also activate the sitemap plugin in All in one seo.

Hi everyone.

Hey Jean,
Doing a quick Google search for your question: "How to get a google featured snippet?" (without the quotation marks, of course), I found the following post that explains it well: http://searchengineland.com/get-featured-snippets-site-224959
That's perfect thank you.
Now I just need to figure out If there is already a featured snippet associated with another site on my chosen keyword if it would be worth it to use that keyword.
Thanks again.
Cool. You posted this 2 years ago, and I searched for "Google Featured Snippets" in WA and came across this post. Ha!
It's like opening up a time capsule!
I'm going to read that article at searchengineland and see if I can figure out how to reverse engineer my competition for the keyword that I am looking for.
Thank you!
Ok I just skimmed through this article, and while it doesn't give you a technical step-by-step process of "how to format your page for Google Featured Snippets", it basically seems to assert that if the user types in a question or is looking for information, and your article can provide a clear-cut, succint, and concise answer (and it ranks on the first page somewhere near the top), then it will be automagically chosen as a snippet.
Also: I have a Google Home... So I would suspect that Google Home also gets its answers from Google Snippets as well.
Definitely worth exploring further.
The best thing to do is to recreate what the site has done to get the featured snippet.
It's hard to tell whats needed and there really is no set formula. Time to reverse engineer success!
This is the best advice I have heard all day! FIgure out what your competition is doing and reverse-engineer it.
I searched WA for "Google Featured Snippets" and came across this thread, which is apparently 2 years old! (Yikes!)
But still relevant today.
I can't seem to find any WA training courses on this topic...
