The WA affiliate program is recurring, you can find other programs on the web as well. As for your own product or service, you may be in the wrong place for that as this is a training platform for affiliate marketing. However, the training here to establish a strong foundation for your website can be used on your site too if you're looking for a good business model.
If you haven't gone through the training, you may want to do that first. :)

I agree with the comment below. If you need to, work through the training again, starting with certification course two.
That is what I did. Don't rush it. I"m pretty sure there are a lot of Affiliate programs for travel industry.

Thanks, Sondra. To give in is not my thing. Well, not at this point. I am just trying to do things the correct way. To try I and find out what balance I m supposed to work towards for example recurring products and once of commissions.

Don't forget, you CAN also have more than one website.

Before I want to do anything I would like to get more insight on the matter and IF I get the green light I will go through the proper training at affiliate boot camp and take it from there. I saw someone incorporating fashion within their traveling niche as traveling are only a once a year opportunity.

The time for the cookie is from when someone clicks the link on your website and is taken to the product company's website. It's the product company that sets the cookie in the visitor's browser, it doesn't matter how long you've had the post up.
Yes, and if they delete the cookies (cache) before the 30 days, then it must be the same: no commission...
Okay so next question. How to overcome this and leverage from it? Is there a way and what can be done? When does a cookie start? As soon as you publish a link or product then it starts or when someone opens a link from your website then a cookie starts?
I'm not an expert, please don't forget that! :-) But with their first click on the affiliate link a cookie is set... and we can only trust in their ethical behaviour and hope that they are clicking on your affiliate link again when they want to purchase a promoted product... (when they deleted the cache before).
If the cookies is for 30 days, then after 30 any transactions done on the website is not credited to you.
Because the cookie on the person's system must have gone off.
