Now on to Success!

All my life I've dreamt of having the world at my feet, living a life of luxury, giving everyone who ever damaged me the middle finger, and laughing in the face of adversity. Instead, I became the laughingstock of my own life. I've failed at every attempt to make myself stand out from the rest of the world, and I've failed at every business venture I set my heart to.

Now that I am almost 40, I get it. Long term success takes time, and I've just always given up to easy. I never let myself truly become successful because I was looking at the picture all wrong. I wanted instant success, instant money, and an instant perfect life. But it doesn't work that way.

The last three years I've invested my time in finally getting my BA degree in English and Creative Writing, and recently I started my MFA degree in Creative Writing. I love to write, the problem is, writing is not a sustainable career. There are so many ups and downs to it, and it's almost impossible to depend solely on surviving on being an author.

That is where Wealthy Affiliate comes in. This isn't the first time I've heard of becoming an affiliate, my sister actually mentioned it to me about a year ago, I just didn't know where to go with it, and when you research, the internet bombards you with so much information that it becomes overwhelming and you quit before you start. That was me. I looked again and again, but I was never satisfied with the information I found. So, I gave up.

What prompted me was a video that popped up in my feed on Facebook about a guy that went from being a barista to living a life of luxury. He created a video to show people that they too could become successful from affiliate marketing. The problem with his video was it was too vague. He showed only the minimum of information so even when trying to follow it I became lost with Google Adsense, and Click websites to find products. The whole thing was a mess, and I had no one to ask questions of even know where to begin. So I turned to YouTube.

I researched how to get started as an affiliate marketer and a video popped up from a guy named Mike. I was so intrigued that I watched to the end and then googled his website. His website them brought me to a free 7-day trial which turned out to be Wealthy Affiliate. Over the course of the rest of the day, I watched video after video and tried everything that was in the lesson plan.

I know it's not a race, but I was just so excited to see that something like Wealthy Affiliate existed that I didn't want to stop. I want so badly to be successful that I just want to put my heart in to it and run down the road to my success. At this point it's not just about the money. Money will come and go, but success could last a lifetime. And if I do this properly, I could potentially be leaving behind a legacy for my children.

So, here is to long term success with the help of Wealthy Affiliate. I am grateful to be a part of such a caring community of like-minded people and I wish all of us the best of luck on our endeavors.

Jeanette, I felt the same way you did...I love English, reading and writing, but there is no future in it unless you become a wildly successful author (which is harder to do nowadays because of ebooks vs. hard/soft cover) or a teacher. I have no desire to be overworked and underpaid LOL!
I've never wanted to achieve success quickly but I have jumped around from job to job never really finding a career. When I came across WA it was like the world opened up before me...here was an opportunity to write (and read for research) and maybe even get paid for it! Like you, I never follow the money but as the saying goes, do what you love and the money will follow!
Many congrats on following through on your writing career!

Best of luck on your journey to success!

Hi Amy! Thanks so much for understanding. As writers we have to find our own way to blossom and although I still have hopes of becoming an author, I'm also hoping this works out as well. There so much I want in life and if all goes well I can continue to do what I love. ❤

Absolutely!
