Hey Jeanette. First of all: Heartbreaking story! Sorry for your loss. I think dealing with your pain by writing about it can really turn out s a huge relief. And if can help others, that makes it even better.
I don't think that you can *change* your domain name after you have already purchased it. I would simply create a new one and also start a new blog dedicated to that topic here on WA.
That way, you can always come back and follow that other approach. Maybe it is even a good thing to have that one blog that helps you to deal with your sister's story and that second one that is dedicated to you and your boy!?
What do you think?
Cheers,
chris

I believe the site is new and there is no content yet. As long as the main theme topic of the website still intact from beginning, go ahead. A domain name not necessarily come from your keywords, although highly recommended. You still can build your brand around the existing domain.
All the best.
