Rototilling

Hi WA Friends!

I finally got my rototiller going and started to rototill my garden. I am taking a break right now, as I'm very hot and tired. It's 84 degrees outside and my garden was overgrown with weeds.

Rototillers really like weeds. They pull them in, hug them, and wrap them in their tines, and keep them there. Then I have to shut off the rototiller and work to get them unwrapped. Otherwise the tines don't turn anymore.

Also I have very rocky ground; which means that it feels more like I am running a jack hammer rather than a rototiller. And sometimes the stones get stuck in the tines. They can be a challenge to get out, too.

I got half of it done; but had to come in, cool down and relax; before my body gave in to heat exhaustion. I've lived enough years to recognize when it's time to take a break. Except when it comes to WA, of course.

Anyway, I decided to cool off in front of the computer writing this blog. Well, you say, what does this have to do with WA? I'm getting there. Try to be patient. :)

Rototilling my garden got me to thinking about how there are times we need to rototill our lives. Yes. Times that the weeds (of discontent) need to be dug up and removed; no matter how painful that can be.

We need to dig deep into the hard ground and remove the the rocks (of unforgiveness and hardheartedness); so that our life can become fertile and ready to plant. (new ideas and attitudes) If we expect to produce a large harvest; then we must prepare the soil.

If we don't prepare the soil of our garden; there is nowhere to plant our new seeds or plants. And the weeds would just take over and push our new plants out. The hard ground and rocks would not allow the water to sink in to get to the roots; and our plants would die.

If we don't prepare the soil of our lives; the weeds of discontent will take over and push out new ideas and creativity. The hard ground and rocks of hardheartedness and unforgiveness would overcome growing, thriving and succeeding, and eventually kill our dreams, goals and aspirations.

Have you rototilled your life lately? I know the weeds of discontent go deep, and the roots get all tangled up in our emotions. And the rocks of unforgiveness take a lot of time to locate and remove; but it will be worth it.

The newly rototilled soil in your life will be ready to plant. The soil will be loose and fertile. The water of forgiveness will be able to reach the roots of our hardheatedness. With the right care and nurturing: and when the time is right; the harvest will amaze you!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Jeannie

What a beautiful post, M'lady! Not sure how I missed this one! Sometimes I have some many email alerts, I just delete (rototill?) a bunch just to start fresh.

The interesting thing about weeds is that they keep resprouting. So it is with the roots of bitterness and forgiveness. We have to keep checking the "soil" to make sure no new vines have sprung.

This is really a deep one.

It's ok if you deleted. I miss a lot now because I was getting stressed out trying to keep up with emails and also finding time for my site and the rest of my life; so I turned off most of my notifications. I have gone way back up to 85 in ranking on here; but somehow there seems to be a lot on my plate lately. If I ignore my site for even a week; it goes down from blue to yellow and I like the color blue much better. Lol. Anyway; I am missing my friends and their wonderful posts. Maybe I can find a way to rearrange my schedule to fit more in. It's hard because whenever I am needed for watching Bella; I try to make myself available because she is so sweet and funny and I miss her when I don't have her for a couple days.

Your comment is pretty deep too; but true. Bitterness and unforgiveness can grow deep roots (like crab grass) and they can choke the joy right out of your life if you let them grow unhindered. Plow those babies up and get them out of there! Lol.

If you let me know by pm when you write a post, I will be glad to read and respond. I can do the same for you if you like?

Love ya, Queeny! Xoxoxo

Good Morning M'lady,

If I remember, I can definitely send you my posts via PM, but really, worries. I know we all lead busy lives. I don't even work full time and sometimes the days just seem to whiz by!

If the LORD allows, after service tomorrow, I'll be taking some time to regroup any write out my goals. Although I have many productive days, I still feel that I am not as focused as I need to be, so time for some rototilly!!!

Have an incredible weekend!

I seem to always need rototilling. Lol. You seem to get a lot done to me. I am in awe. :). You have an awesome weekend too.

A beautiful post Jeannie. I love how you compared rotilling with life. Enriching our soil to remove all the bad stuff will surely provide us with good soil that will allow us to prosper and grow.
Thank you.

Thanks for reading and commenting so insightfully, Jerome.

A great timely post Jeannie and a reminder. Been there done that. I'm so familiar with having to use a sharp tool to undo the weeds that bind around the tines. Time to get out there and plow a reasonable amount!

Thanks Mike. It's all done now. Time for planting the garden and rototilling my life. Lol.

Just don't get plowed under Jeannie! :)

Lol. I'll try not to, Mike.

Beautiful analogy!

Excellent suggestions.

Happy gardening!

Thank you so much Sue. Just went back up and finished rototilling. Now I'm recovering to rake and plant. :)

Wonderful post Jeannie , thank you really like it.

Thank you Alex. I'm pleased that you liked it. :)
