International Uniqueness Day
Hi my wonderful WA family.
I was just thinking today, about how diverse of a family we are. Each of us unique; and very different from each other. We come from different countries and different cultures. We speak different languages and hold different beliefs and customs. It is very interesting to me when people post things about their counties or their customs.
Even the snow flakes (which are falling today), are unique; though they look very much the same. No one person is completely the same as someone else. We may look similar and talk the same language; but still be very different.
God created us as unique human beings. But there are times we strive to be the same; to fit in. We want to be like others so they will like us or keep us in their circle of friends. There are times we don't want to be different. Times we don't want to stand out; but blend in. Be part of the group; just another sheep in the pasture. But if God made us unique; then we should be happy to be unique.
Today, begin to celebrate your uniqueness! Be happy to be who you are. Be thankful that you are not just like everyone else. Be ready to stand as different; but wonderfully special and one of a kind. There is no one exactly like you. And that is a wonderful thought. You are a collectable. You are not a copy, or a generic, right from the factory markdown. You are beautiful in your own way; not a copy of someone else's beauty.
Celebrate today as International Uniqueness Day!! No, it isn't a real holiday. I just made it up. But it should be; and we should celebrate our uniqueness every day.
Have a wonderful "one of a kind" day!
At your service,
Jeannie

We are indeed a very unique community here at WA just as we are all unique individually. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this.

Thanks Jeannie, but I have always thought I was unique and love the saying that everyone marches to a different drummer. Never wanted to be like anyone else including my brothers. You are unique and should embrace it.
Thanks Harvey. That is wonderful that you can celebrate your uniqueness. I celebrate my uniqueness now; but it wasn't always so. There was a time I thought I should become like others. Now I feel free to be myself and be happy in my own skin. Many people don't. It is a blessing to be thankful for. :)
Yes sweet unique Veronica! And celebrate it every day. :). Not only should we appreciate it in ourselves; but in others too. :)
What a beautiful endeavor, Jeannie!
I believed you! This sure could be a real holiday!God created us as unique individuals and it's our duty on earth to develop what he put in us...:))
Exactly. Why do we sometimes try to become like everyone else? Why do we feel like we don't fit in if we are different? We are supposed to be different. We should be celebrating. Yay!! Unique Vera!! Unique Jeannie!! Lol. Thanks Vera.
Very nice post Jeannie! Thank you! I will try to keep that in mind as I go about my daily plan. I've got some unique and creative ideas for today.
