When we hit
I was born much weaker,
so you could be my strength.
I was born for distance,
you'd help me travel that length.
I was born with pure love,
flowing through my veins.
Born to one I thought,
could help me pull my reins.
Instead you took my pieces,
broke them all in two.
Crying through it all,
there's nothing I could do.
You're anger turned to rage,
and I became the crutch.
The one that felt the beating,
the child that took so much.
Every time you lost a job,
or spilled water on the floor.
I became you venting post,
as you threw me through the door.
I'm only a small child,
I don't deserve this hate.
But for you to find peace,
I have found this fate.
Back story: Before I got sick I was an active child advocate. The things I witnessed went beyond what most should ever see. While my illness took me out of courtrooms it hasn't stopped my fight to prevent and raise awareness about the gross epidemic of child abuse and neglect.
Sorry for the sadder blog, but a case recently crossed my path and this is what came out

Writers write about what moves them, when it moves them. Those make for the best pieces...the ones that come from the heart. It's a wonderful thing that you do...to help those that are powerless to help themselves. The children of the world need more people like you, Jennifer!
As writers, we know that we write about what comes out! Our words are not always planned. :)
I commend you , the will powerr to survive and help others who are in need against abuse..
Sadly True, Children are abused the most, I guess every persona when he/she was a child has been in one way or the other.
But that's the reality of this world, we are bound to get abused when we are young, when we grow old abuse takes another form. It's a continuous fight against different forms of abuse.
Hmmm this brings saddness, I went through a childhood like this. I congratualate you on your fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Cheers Kev
At least you keep fighting for worthwhile things Jennifer, I know there are worse cases and better cases.... but keep going!
