When the past comes knocking
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
It's your past. Do you open the door? Do you wallow in the company?
NO! You smile and say "Hey I remember you. You're the doubt that said I wouldn't be here. And yet, look where you've come to find me."
Sometimes your past coming back to visit isn't a bad thing. In fact it never has to be a bad thing. You'll get a very good reminder of what you thought was impossible and what you've proven since then.
A drinking buddy came over today... She wanted to catch up... she brought vodka...
Vodka use to be my weakness. I poured it down the drain. This is a big deal for me personally I haven't allowed myself to be around vodka since sobriety just because I never thought I could do exactly what I did.... Past 0 Present GO ME

Lol, I was irritated at first, but then I got to do something that at one point felt impossible. I should thank her one day.... just not today lol
That was the. This is NOW. It's okay to use the past as a gauge to mark your progress. It's not a great idea to yearn for it. Good for you for moving onward and upward!
I was scared when she pulled it out.... she left really quickly when I poured it out. I couldn't help her today, but I did a lot for me
JDunyon,
Good for you and I am glad that you stood up for your sobriety.
Sometimes the past comes knocking to show us how much we have grown.

The things we learn from the past are eternal. There should be nothing more.
Agree. Though sometimes I forget that
