Learning to go on
I am one of those people that can get caught on one imperfect detail, to the point of madness, if I allow it. They way a picture blurs, how a tint can change my entire mood. There's several things that I could fixate on. So how do I push past that weakness?
I have set limits and schedules to help keep from over analyzing. I force myself to stay on that schedule so I'm not wasting useful time on useless tasks. If I'm writing an article I schedule breaks at the hour mark for fifteen minutes. It screws with the fixation and allows me to move forward more effectively.
We are, by nature, our worst critic. Because of that we have got to learn to allow for mistakes. It's not easy because we want to be perfect, but it is essential to our growth to allow ourselves to make and learn from mistakes.

I totally understand! I'm in the same boat. Not sure if this is good or not, but I worked on my website all day yesterday and did nada today. Felt I needed a break. Just getting to emails this evening (my time). Feeling ok about it too. Also, I did some much needed tapping and reading to change it up and to improve my mental health. If you haven't tried tapping, I auggest giving it a try. Looks weird, but it can help!
Tapping?? I'm going to have to give it try. Today I woke up in a stalled state of mind so I'm working slowly until I can figure out whats got me in a funk. tapping might be needed
Google tapping. It is very uncoventional but work well. I just came back from my run. That works well too. Cheers Kev
It is so good to function breaks into the day, it certainly helps the workflow, mistakes and me are very good friends so I find that by taking breaks my mistake rate goes down if that makes sense.
LOL mistakes and me we have a mutual understanding... They keep happening and I'll laugh through them or go crazy... you know which ever happens first
Yes that's true!....because in life you make mistakes and since experience teaches wisdom, we have to use the mistakes we make to help us become wiser. The next time we encounter the familiar territory, we know how to manuver (

I'm very lucky to have found such amazing friendships here at WA, but more than that finding so many people with similar thinking. You are truly wonderful Steve :)
Thanks Jennifer...it's the breaks that allow your brain to breathe and become more productive! There are studies......

I agree, I have the same problem when building a website or doing ads. I took a break yesterday and have 200 emails this morning. Been selecting the most important and deleting the others. Cheers Kev
LOL. The email pile up of emails will sometimes stop me from taking a complete break
Yeah it's hard to ignore. Cheers Kev
