I need some serious help

Well, it seems I'm in a tough spot. I thought I chose a good niche about something that interests me which is home beer brewing.

I'm working on my site and going through the training and, at this point, it's a daunting task. You see, I've never brewed a single beer in my life and I don't think just reading about it is going to be enough to write a blog, let alone many, that could establish any kind of authority.

Yes, I could go to my local brewing store and get what I need and gain some experience except I live hours from any such place. I could buy a kit online fairly easily except for the fact that the holidays pretty much exhausted my wallet so I'm fairly strapped at the moment. I'm thinking about completely changing niches but I already purchased a domain related to this niche.

I can play guitar, I've done it most of my life and am pretty good at it, however, I don't have a clue how I would blog about it.

Even if I was this great writer and knew exactly what I was going to blog about there are so many other things that just confuse the hell out of me. I see people talking about benefits of plug-ins and all I know about them is they're on the menu in my dashboard and I update when the little number is there. Affiliate links? How to get them? Products to sell?

I'm extremely overwhelmed and just feeling very stupid. The last thing I want to do is give up as I feel this may be my last resort in finding any kind of livelihood but my confidence level is at an all time low right now.

Please, WA community, help me find a clue.

Thanks

Jon

Hi Jon,
I've played the guitar and Organ for 40+ years and will eventually start a site that is musically related. Here are some Ideas I was thinking of;
1) Rating teaching programs or individual stylists
2) Licks and tricks (support with youtube videos)
3) Rate custom guitars (You would have to go play them)
4) Electronic gear.

Just some ideas.....search alphabet soup !

I think KarenDemers suggestion is great. I think it you want to do the beer niche, you could take the time and interview micro brew owners about their process. As well, you could find folks that are home brewing beer and interview them. So you could write about that. But you could also get everything you need to brew and do a blog no the step by step process from purchasing equipment to the finished product. Mix in stuff you learned from you interviews. I'd give the beer thing a try.

This is a great idea too...his blog would be all about his experience in learning the process. kinda like home beer brewing for dummies.

Hi Jon...My suggestion would be to start a site based on a guitar niche. You can blog about your history and love of the guitar, different types of guitars, acoustic vs electric, the types of wood used to make the best sounding guitars. how to tune your guitar and how/where to store your guitar when not being used are just a few ideas.
I would think it would be easy to become an affiliate marketer for some of the better known guitar makers and you could write product reviews.
I'm going to follow you to see what you come up with.
Best wishes,
Karen

Thanks, Karen, I think I'm going to follow Steve's advice and go through the affiliate bootcamp first and then I am definitely going to pursue the guitar niche.

Cheers

Hi there Jon...
I think the best thing you can do at this stage is to start working your way through the Affiliate BootCamp training...

Not only will you learn what you need to for the niche you end up working in, you will end up with an internet business selling Wealth Affiliate...

As someone has suggested below, put the beer thing on the back burner...start with something that you WILL succeed with...

I went through the same thing when I started...

You've got nothing to lose and a lot to gain...

Let me know what you think...

Kind regards
Steve

Hi Steve,
It's something I've thought about but I also recall Kyle mentioned about doing the boot camp if you just couldn't find a niche so that's where my mindset was/is. It just seems weird to me to blog about how to make money when I never actually made any. I'm not dismissing the idea and I trust you if you say it works so I'll check it out.

What do you think of the guitar niche? It is something I love and have experience with or do you think the boot camp is the way to go to understand what needs to be applied to my actual niche?

Thanks

Hi again...
I know nothing about the guitar niche...
What will happen if you complete the BootCamp training is this...you will have ALL the knowledge you need to set start a business in any niche you want!
The choice is yours...
I just thought I would offer you the benefit of my experience!
The answer to your question...understand what needs to be applied...
You won't get a better teacher than Kyle to do this while he teaches you how to sell his own product!

All the best whatever you decide to do!

Thank you very much, Steve, I'm going to go through the boot camp! I'm already feeling better and a boost of confidence. I love it when people actually care and today I can see it in this community. Thank you.

You're welcome Jon...
You won't regret it...and you will feel as if you are moving in a positive direction...
That's what happened to me!
I'm here if you need any help or advice...
Steve

Hi Jon, I think a niche on guitars would be a great idea. It seems like you are pretty passionate about it and better yet, you are good at it. There are many things that you can blog about. Your experience playing the guitar. How to select a good guitar. Suggestions on taking lessons. Different types of guitars, electric, acoustics, bass, etc. the list goes on. This is a pretty good niche.
Jerome

Hi Jon. As a former home beer brewer, I can say many are extremely passionate about home brewing. I think this niche would be difficult without being an experienced home brewer. It is one thing to buy a beer kit, but many home brewers don't use kits, They buy the ingredients separately so they change and experiment recipes. With 100's of yeast strains plus many other ingredient combinations, different hop and malt varieties, there lots of experimentation going on. One of the reasons I gave up home brewing is the fact that my wife did not like the smell of the malt and hops cooking on the stove. I typically brewed ale very similar to Pete's Wicked Ale. But in the long run I did not have the passion. Plus it's cheaper and faster to buy a case of beer.

Best thing is to go through the lessons, particularly defining your niche. It needs to be something you have passion for.

Don't worry. There is no rush to cover all the material. I always thought it was like drinking out of a fire hose.

Thanks Glen, yeah the more I read about the home brewing I find d that there's just so much to it, I still want to do it but I think I'm going to have to put that niche aside for now.

I wish Pete's Wicked was still around, I really enjoyed it!

Cheers

I know the feeling of being overwhelmed and not knowing what's what. I wouldn't worry about all that right now. If your stuck in your current niche give it a break and try one for guitars. Write whatever feels right to you and what you know.
Don't worry about all the technical stuff until it's necessary and just follow the lesseons. I'm still only on course 3 but working the best I can at it.
Or just try a while new niche that really gets your interests and know alot about.
Later dude.

Thanks for the reply, I think I may put my first site on the back burner for now and come back to it after I gain some actual experience.

Cheers

You got a lot of great advice now dude !! Lol

Do what's right for you.
