Hello all! I wanted to ask about website names. My website that I just purchased last night is myjeepthreads.com (which I have yet to transfer my stuff from my siterubix site).

I'm not in any way an authority in this business but when I was researching website names for myself to set up and use, one very important thing I read was be careful not to be to similar to any website name out there. The reason being you don't want to send traffic you've work so hard on to someone else's site. Just a thought you may want to look into.
Best of luck

Thank you! That is a very good point and one I hadn’t thought of! 😊👍

Your very welcome. Good luck.

I would be a lot more concerned about using the brand name "Jeep". If someone else owns a brand name then you don't really have the right to use it. Contact Jeep themselves for clarity.

Hi - I don't know the answer to your original question, but something you may wish to consider is that you are using a brand name which I presume is copyrighted. Last year Nike took 20 websites to court for using their name and images.

I will recommend you look for a different name just to avoid any complication in the future.

Looking at what you're niche is all about... considered some other words to describe what you're going to do. for example... jeep and me dot com or jeep land dot com all about jeep dot com or even jeep enthusiast dot com.

If a website name is for sale and you buy it, it is yours. No if, ands, whats or buts about it! Think about it this way - if you were to buy a brick and mortar store in whatever state you live in, who's to say a store with the same name doesn't exist in another state or even another town or county within your own state. (I'm talking on the mom and pop scale here, not Walmart or McDonalds lol)

I think one way of differentiating your website from the other one might be to add a disclaimer on your landing page...just a suggestion :)

Best of luck on your journey to success!

Amy
