Last Update: February 20, 2019

https://amzn.to/2BKgBlcNone of us are a stranger to procrastination. Procrastination is a dream killer and a thief of precious time, opportunities and a big sabotages to your health, well-being and self esteem.

We procrastinate for different reasons, such as, fear of failure, fear of the unknown or just not feeling motivated

Procrastination causes us to lose precious time. Many of us can relate to this. There are times when we look back on our lives and realize that 5 years, 10, years, 15 or more years have passed, and we came to the sad realization that because we put off precious time, we did not finish college, we did not apply for that job we want, we did not take that special exotic vacation, we did not meet that special person we would have hoped to have in our life. Because we wasted precious time, someone else seized that opportunity and marry that man or that woman we wished for. It is such a terrible feeling because we cannot turn back the hands of time.

Procrastination is a big sabotager of your health and well-being Having worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, I have seen the effects procrastination have had on many people. People delayed in seeking medical care for way too long and the results have lead to permanent health issues and even death.

Another common problem is that many of us put off taking care of our bodies by not excising and eating healthy, therefore, we become overweight or obese which can also leads to many health problems.

Procrastination can Lower your self esteem. This is a terrible situation any of us can find our self facing. When we procrastinate, it does not help our confidence. What it does is, it reinforces our self-doubt and low self esteem, and you start to question your abilities. To be successful in pursuing your dreams and goals. Procrastination can slowly eat away at your self esteem if you do not snap out of it quickly.

Procrastination can sabotage your reputation. Have you ever heard anyone said, "oh he is just full of empty promises, he is not serious, or you may have heard some being accused of not being dependable or reliable, every day he promised "I will come tomorrow, I will give you a hand next week, always making excuses. We all have dealt with people like that in our lives. As a result you stop helping them or giving them advice or informing them of opportunities that could have help transformed their lives. So guess what, you not only sabotage your reputation, but a better future for yourself and family.

It is not all hopeless, here are a few tips to kill the habit of Procrastination.

1) Do not put off what you can do today for tommorow

2) Make haste while you have the ability

3) Face your fears head on

4) Keep company with positive people

5)Start excising and eating healthy

6) Listen to encouraging words or read an encouraging book- This is a very good one that I can testify to that has been around for many years it is titled " TThe Power Of Possitive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale

There is only one good in procrastination, it is when you think to do next time what is bad until your mind changes for the good ones.
