The Internal Conflict With Links

Last Update: February 04, 2017

Every time that I request feedback for my site people always tell me I need to put more links in. Tee shirts is my niche and it's very visual in nature. I want everyone to know that I am hearing them loud and clear about needing more image links and links in general. I really am, but that clashes with other advice though like Google not wanting you to overdo links.

I am afraid that if I put more links in I will be considered a junky promotional site. I don't know the correct balance of links in content. My thinking is you probably don't want to put more than three affiliate links in a single post or its considered over-promoting. Does anybody else have this internal conflict of wanting to sell but also afraid of getting bashed by Google?

When you have different classes of things like different areas to sell t shirts or different types of t shirts. Links are critical!

It depends on what links you are referring to. Google loves internal links. That's links from your content to other content on your site. If you are referring to Affiliate links then you are right.

Yes I am talking about people advising me to put in more affiliate links. I should have been more clear on that so sorry for that. They tell me I need to put in more product links which I feel is dangerous advice.

You are very right in saying that Google doesn't like too many links in every post. But I think you can centralise them so that instead of having links on every post, you can just link the centralised page/post.

I've thought about that. Have a central post with all my affiliate links and many other related posts linking to it making it a landing page with a whole lot of products. I think that is what your saying isn't it? The rest of the posts just having internal links to the one with my affiliates
