Does it matter if I use dashes in my keywords?

Last Update: December 29, 2016

I do t-shirts as my niche, but I think typing t shirts works better for ranking than with the dash in it. Is this ok to do? Does anyone think it makes a difference?

dashes wont hinder. They may accentuate the meaning!

What do you mean by that? Is that bad? I actually try to use that in Yoast and they don't seem to pick it up very well. I was just wondering if Google would see that keyword, or is considered a typo?

My understanding is that Google looks at the words for relevant content not cosmetics!

That is a specific type of shirt. If you can produce a URL when you develop your domain name with the hyphen I think you should use it. I have a medical site with a possessive 's in the title. When I selected the domain name, the ' was dropped. That is different than the hypen in the style of shirt.

I didn't use it in my website title. My website is called coolteesonline.com. I may have screwed up on this one.
