So I took to looking someone elses website to help them out and I found that they have a few posts buched up and I know there is a video somewhere here that teaches you how to

Are you asking about Read More tags? Here’s a video tutorial I put together a while back:

Thank you very much:):):):):):) you just answered the question.

I was trying to help someone here and I thought I knew where the video was.

But yeah this is very helpful.

I'd help if I knew how, but I don't. Perhaps ask someone who has authored a training.

I hear you but that's my problem I have no idea just who did it I even went to the top tab bar to see if I could find at least something.

Thanks for trying though.

I did some more updates to my website recently but I am having trouble with getting my pages on my website and under certain catagories.

Is there any advice someone here

Hello I see someone has already answered your question all the best

The tutorial will get you there.

Thanks, I will make sure I am very through with it.

Hey Victor,

You cannot assign a WordPress page to a category. However, if you use categories on your menu or navigation bar then you could always add the page to that menu.

Here's a tutorial to help you: Hope you find this information helpful.

thanks, I will do this

I just got some pictures for my website and I got outside feedback on my website's latest post and heard I needed pictures to explain the contex

As long as you use Amazon's official photos (from the image or text+image links) you are fine.

I use both the image+text links and the text only links in many reviews.

Thanks, that's what I am trying to stick to since they have basically everything I need to make my reviews.

Amazon stripe gives you the photo and link to use; however, the photos usually are the manufacturer's official photo for a given product -- so I've always wondered why Amazon seems to indicate copyright protection over photos that are not their own images, but rather are manufacturer images that are meant to be used for selling and promoting those products. Bottom line as an Amazon affiliate is doing whatever Amazon dictates.

On a related topic: In the context of a product review, I assume it could be helpful to post our own product photos if we have taken our own photos that better help to display features of the product. Does anyone know whether using our own photos would run afoul of Amazon (ie would Amazon have a problem with bloggers using their own product photos -- in addition to the official linked photo from Amazon stripe -- when writing a blog review post for a product sold on Amazon?)

I started my site with my own photos of the products I was reviewing. In the training here (somewhere) I believe it warned about doing that however due to copyright issues.

Now I only use Amazon's official photos.

Thanks, that's helpful! I'll stick to Amazon photos for Amazon affiliate links.

However, sounds like there may be some confusion about copyright - maybe I'll see if I can find what they say in the training here - because if you take your own photos of a product, you have the copyright to your own photos. And the manufacturers have copyrights to their own official product photos (not Amazon). However, most people wouldn't necessarily be able to quickly learn whether Amazon took the photo or whether the manufacturer took the photo at hand, so I can see why the default is simply just use Amazon's photos for Amazon links.

The reason I'm pondering photos is that your own product photos (photos that you take of a product you are reviewing or selling) in themselves become a separate, GREAT way to get Google traffic, when YOUR photos of products appear in Google images, people click on the image link to go to your website = another excellent source of traffic.

So I'm not inclined to completely dismiss the idea of using some of my own photos of products to distinguish my reviews from other people's reviews -- except, apparently, for Amazon affiliate links -- As of my understanding right now, for Amazon affiliate links I'll only use the photos Amazon provides with Amazon stripe for the given product.

But our own unique photos can be an additional, powerful, source of Google traffic from motivated buyers - so it's something I will look into more.
Thanks again!
Kate

Kate,

I still use my own photos but only of my cats etc. not of the cat products I am reviewing...for the most part. I do use photos of my cats on the cat tree I am reviewing and a few others like that. I am no longer using photos of supplements etc. however with a name and logo clearly displayed. The problem is not with Amazon but with the manufacturer of the product itself as I recall.

Since I am reviewing cat products using cat photos of my own cats or others is a great way of getting traffic as you said.

For my supplement site I am sticking with Amazon's images from Site Stripe and other generic photos.

Thanks!
Jessica

Still pondering use of our own product photos EXCEPT for Amazon affiliate products. It's understandable why Amazon would want ONLY the product photos for its listing (regardless of whether Amazon took the photos or whether the photos are the official manufacturer photos) to appear everywhere.

If there are different pictures, different lighting, different view, it could confuse potential buyers as to whether this is the item they would be purchasing (especially if the OFFICIAL product photo is not shown).

Still, for other purposes on your websites (and for other kinds of affiliate links - not Amazon links), keep in mind the potential additional Google traffic you can gain by posting your own photos.

Thanks again!
Kate

Thank you

Why yes my friend lots of Us do, may you have a wonderful Sunday.

You bet you. can have pictures and links on your site
Jimmy G

Thanks, I wanted to get a second opinion on the subject regarding pictures and links.

Hi Victor, seems like your question has been answered.

All the best,
Michael

It's okay I still like some feedback from everyone who visits me from time to time.

Thanks for the reply though.

As long as you are an Amazon affiliate you can use the images of the products you wish to sell or talk about. Only use the images that are supplied in the links that you are given. When you click on your Amazon site stripe that is the only image you are to use. I hope this makes sense to you.
Other places to get free images are Pexels and Pixabay, there are many other sites, but these 2 seem to be the most popular.

Thanks, I recently did that.

https://unsplash.com/

Is a good site for free photos, but like Jenny said above, you can use the amazon photos that provide you affiliate links for products

Yep. Many of us use a combination of text links and images.

Just make sure you have permission to use the images. You can't just grab random images from Google or you will likely be violating copyright laws which could potentially get your site shut down.

Here's a resource to help get you started if you like:

Hi - trusted by whom? Amazon? You can't take an image from Amazon and just use it as a non-clickable picture, without it being an affiliate link, if that's what you mean.

It is clickable. What I mean is having both the picture and the links as clickable and can it still be trusted as an honest website for an audience viewing the website itself.

I want to establish my website as an honest viewing platform for the audience I cater to.

I feel as though having both clickable links and pictures to Amazon can seem dishonest like if someone is using their phone and taps really fast on the phone and while they read my content ends up accidentally clicking on the picture that takes them to the product itself.

Thanks for replying. I am glad to hear back from you.

Is there a way to add a comments section for your website like a leave a reply page?

Hey Victor,

If you cannot see a comment form at the bottom of your posts then perhaps you need to enable comments. If so, see screen print below to see how you can find tutorials whenever you need them.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, I got it.

On each Wordpress Post, there is a place where you can designate whether or not you want Comments!

Categories are usually already chosen, but there are several things you may choose for your website!

God Bless and Good Luck!
Janice 🤗🌷

Thanks for the help I have found a few people who are interested in looking at my website and they might buy off it. so yeah here we go.

Very glad to hear this. Good Luck.

I just got done with a very recent post and Now Im working on a draft post for a memerable person who did a lot for the niche I'm working on.

So my question is

Wouldn't worry about it

Hi Victor,
Yes I have. I search my site with 4 different browsers by typing in the URL, they all come up different.

I really am not sure what to do about it.

Best wishes,
Michael

It's okay I just thought it looked a little weird but if you want to PM me tomorrow after my new post here you are very much welcome to it.

Not really, but I haven't looked in a while. Jim

One thing you can do is submit it again on those search engines so it's updated. :)

I might try that after I get some more work done on a new post for my website.

Often archive pages from sites will display on some of the obscure search engines.

I hear you but I still find it a little weird that would happen even on a different engine.
