As a Premium member it looks as though I have automated backup. Do I need to do manual backup too before updating plugins and after adding new content?

Check Marions answer, its highly reliable!!!

I always back my site up before any updates

What do you use to back up your site?

I did previously use a plugin called backdraft however I wanted to keep plugins down so I used Marion's method 30 second daily back up easy and takes no time at all see she has given you the link

That's great. Checking out her links now.

I backup often and always before updates.

Thanks for the links! I'll check them out.

I've now completed my first backups and feel a lot better about moving forward. Your training worked a treat! Thanks again for all your help.

Knowing that you've backed up gives you more confidence. Well it does for me anyway.

You might also investigate backup plugins. Some are better than others.

Ok. Will do.

I use with without any updates or plug-ins

"need", not really, WA does a daily backup. That being said, it's likely "safer" to do so. But, I didn't and had no issue with the WordPress update or updating any plugins.

It's been a few days now that I get the 400 bad request message for my site build. I selected a theme and other options and hit build. But so far all I get is the 400 message.

have you managed to resolve the issue with Anthony's suggestion

No. See my response to Anthony.

if you are not able to log into your site you will need to put a support ticket in, go to the left of your page click siterubix and select support

Ok, will do. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hops this helps

Yes I tried the suggestions on that page but no luck. I can't login to my site to see if there's anything else going on. I just get the error page.

Ok so in the domain settings I'm seeing this...

dns2.registrar-servers.com

when my other site says this...

ns1.mywahosting.com

so maybe I have to go back to Namecheap and change the domain settings or something.
