I added maps to my posts, can I get some opinions please?
After a lot of stress I finally added maps to some of my posts on my site http://whatisinireland.com/ . I wanted this for a long time and relieved that it is done.
I felt it would be best if they were in the sidebar, so thankfully a fellow member here pbar47, provided a training lesson in this. I added the custom sidebar plugin, this will also be great later as I can add widgets for near by accomodation and car rental etc.
Then after a lot of trial and error I finally got a plugin that was suitable for maps. I was reccomended at first Comprehensive google maps plugin, it was awesome but the creater stated that it would soon be discontinued and he reccomended another one which was good, but it would not be free.
Many guys here at WA told me different plugins to use, I tried them but could not understand them. So I spent over an hour on google researching and I found Easy2Map plugin. It is very simple to understand, the free version I have is very basic but it is all I need really.
All I have to do is pin point the location, get the short code and add it to a text widget within my custom sidebar, then activate the custom sidebar I want within the post.
Here are some of the posts I added them to. I would like some opinions whether the title is appropriate, is the zoom good enough e.g should I have it zoomed in more or less (readers can control the zoom anyway) and most importantly do they look good?

The maps look good but they are a bit too big and run under the social sharing icons as others have said. I would definitely make them somewhat smaller. Glyn
Hey Jason,
Thanks for the Irish vacation! My only concern is that the social sharing bar covers part of the map. But otherwise, it's great. Zoom works perfectly, so you shouldn't worry about it.
Hey Jason
I think It looks great. The only thing I found A bit distracting is your social sharing bar is right smack dab over the top of the map and gets in the way. Can you move it to the left side?
Hi Jason. I like the idea but the maps on the right seem to be too big and run off my screen. Is there any way you could make them a little smaller? Other than that, It's a great idea.
Unfortunately I cant change it as I would have to pay for it, I only get the basic settings free
Have you considered setting up map links? That way they would be text based and would open in a new window? Just a thought.
Looking at the first one - Giants Causeway - first issue I have is the social buttons on top of it. Can you move them to the left side?
Here's how it looks on my screen: http://screencast.com/t/M6BoxHCu
Maybe it's my PC but the right side seems cut off. I do like that you can zoom and move the map - that's cool.
Same with the other 3. I think I would almost rather have the map open in a new window than have it cut off - maybe. Can you change the size so it isn't cut off?
I have moved the social buttons, but I cant shrink the map, I tried it but it came up saying I need to get premium version to be able to save those settings. I may try and look for a different plugin but it took me so long to find this one, so I might wait until some day the mood comes on me to go researching for one again lol. There should be a scroll bar on the bottom of your screen to move the page over? it is on mine anyway.
Thanks Angela
oh didn't think to look for that lol. It doesnt effect seeing the area you are pinpointing on the map though so that is good :)
Yeah the plugin is pretty good that way, I can have the map focused out in whatever way I like, I could have the tag in any area I like and I could have it zoomed into streetview or zoomed out as far as a world map
Well if I stumbled across one I'd use it, once google mas are encorporated into the plugin you can do all that cool stuff, its not so important but it would be noce to have it perfect
Seems pretty decent . I do like it but it cold be a little confusing to a visitor if they go at it right away.
Otherwise I think you did a great job it. Google came through again.

They did indeed, only problem is that I would like to make the map smaller which I cant. Thanks Kenny
