Goal Setting: Your Key to Success

As a coach, I'm always interested in the best and most efficient way of doing something. I'm always looking to get better and to learn from past mistakes.
One thing I have always been focused on is goal-setting and planning. The most important thing that I have learned in my work is the need for not only goals, but plans to achieve those goals.
Anyone can say they want to do something, but how are you going to do it? Want to make a million dollars? Thats great, me too. How do you plan on doing it? "A goal, without a plan, is just a wish."
Being a member here at Wealthy Affiliate is a great step towards your goals, but what are you going to do now? Don't settle on goals that seem too far off, or almost unattainable. Set goals that you KNOW you can achieve, and set a time limit to achieve those goals. Once you have that done, identify the steps in your plan that will make that goal happen.
Achieving goals is one of the most satisfying personal and professional things someone can do. It leads to a desire to achieve more, set new, more challenging goals. Its something you WANT to be addicted to.
The process starts over. Whats your plan? For the next hour, for today, for this week. Don't talk about your goals, talk about your plans to achieve them. Fail to achieve a goal? Look at your plan, what can you do different the next time?
Once you become a planner, achieving your goals will become second nature.

Goals or a target to aim for are essential.
A plan to achieve the goal is good.
But there is one other vital element that is missing -- although it is hinted at in your post -- ACTION.
Without ACTION, a plan is just fancy paperwork.
