Frustrated With Comments 2.0

Hello WA family, I know I'm not the first one to voice my concern with the quality of the comments being provided but I really have to say something. I think it's getting ridiculous so I would appreciate if all frequent commentator's read this.

I work hard on my content as do all of us here at WA and I carefully craft my comment requests as well. Just recently I asked for 1 comment and I was very specific as to what I was looking for. In return, I received 7 comments with only 2 that actually paid attention to my request.

Let me explain

I wanted questions about the article or offer experience, I t seems that part was overlooked as only a couple of the comments were relevant. So just to clarify a few things about leaving comments I'm going to make a few small suggestions so people don't disapprove a comment. I pay money for my credits and don't like to see it wasted on low quality comments.

When commenting Please consider the following suggestions

.Do not just copy and paste sections of the article and leave a few words of your own.

.Check your Grammar.

.Pay attention to what the request is actually asking for.

Sorry for the rant but I just had to say something. Make Comments Great Again.

Thank You

Jason

I've paid for comments myself as well and, like you have received poor quality results. I've stopped buying. I get better comments (though not as many) putting requests for comments in the "Comments" thread here in WA.

I had a friend take a look at one of my posts where almost all the comments had come from WA members. It was feedback on the post I was looking for. But he asked if all the comments on the post were real. They were. But when I took a step back and looked at them as objectively as I could, they were all "ra-ra" type comments: how great the post was, some stuffed with keywords and so on. Some questions were asked but answers for some were already in the post (so commenters didn't read the post) or questions were about things not related to the post.

For these reasons, I've stopped using SiteComments 2.0 It's a nice idea but badly implemented.

I think I may go back through my comments with new eyes and delete some. Like you, I know there are some comments that reflect a lack of reading. Sometimes I brush it off as maybe being written by someone with English as a second language. One thing I have noticed lately is that most of the articles I read for information don't even allow comments and they are consistently on the first page of Google.

Send to me, I'll read your request carefully and do what you ask.

Thank you

Hi Jason,

I hear your frustration. I am sorry you have to experience this. Hopefully, I am not the one giving you a bad comment because of my grammar....

Anyways, I noticed that last month the comments that I received the majority of them were bad. I got the same one as you where they just copy and paste from the post. The worst one I got was someone copied and pasted from another commentor. (Maybe he/she did not expect me to read all the comments?)

Hopefully, it will be better soon, hang in there.

I try to be as understanding as I can because I know English is not everyone's native language. When I see an attempt at a quality comment but the grammar is a little off I will edit the comment within reason.

Best Wishes

Jason

Jason,

I'm sorry if I was one of your poor commenters. When I started replying to SiteComments from my phone, I stopped noticing what type of comment the writer was asking for. This went on for weeks before I realized my mistake.

I recently received a batch of very poor comments through SC. One was 95% copied and pasted from my article. Another totally contradicted what I had said.

My experience through the give and take feed has been more positive, especially when I point out what the content will be so that only those who can relate will bother to check it out.

I would rather have a couple of quality comments than a bunch of irrelevant ones.

Wishing you better results in the future!

Theresa

I don't think some of the people realize how important quality comments are. This is why I'm being a bit more picky with my comment approval. I recently had a post rank page 1 position 1 because of a quality comment, so it is a very important issue.

Ps. No it was not you with the bad comment lol.
I really just want to make people aware of how important quality comments are.

Regards

Jason
