Way of least resistance - electricity only?

Last Update: January 23, 2020

What has happened to motivation and discipline?

Motivation comes and goes.

Discipline is already much better, but doesn't lead necessarily to quality work.

So how to do what needs to be done?

Create for it to be the way of least resistance.

How would you ever do that? You need to change your environment. That is all.

Create your environment in a way that the thing that needs to be done is the one with least resistance. That's the time we fully dedicate ourselves to our task.

You like to play video games or get lost on social media? Get rid of tags and invitations to play on your desktop. Get away from the kitchen if you are like me, getting up every 10minutes to take a coffee, pastry etc

Go somewhere where the best thing you can do, is work. Where it is the only and most fascinating choice. That is the only way to success.

To do that, you need discipline.

It takes discipline to get rid of your usual distractions. But you have to do that in order to full engage, devout yourself to the task at hand.

My most recent discovery, to get this business from side hustle to full time, is to dedicate every moment, but not by force. By making it the only and best choice.

Make your way the way of least resistance,

make your goals be downstream.

I wish you all the best, my friends with your business and planning.

You will make it,

as long as it is downstream, easy, and the only option!

Love

Janie

Great advice Janie! I love your suggestion on creating the path of least resistance between where we are and where we'd like to be. Like electricity does.

I'd like to add a twist.

Create mini goals to achieve each day. They shouldn't be more than three. When each is completed, reward yourself with that cup of coffee or pastry!

I have ADD and this technique helps me a lot.

Strangely there are times I get so engrossed in what I'm working on I don't take a break. So it all works out in the end!

Thanks for your great ideas.

Love and hugs.

If something is easy, anybody and everybody more than likely already knows it. You have to teach or make people recognize that what you are saying is important or of value to them so that they want it or to hear more. Read your post into a tape recorder or into your phone and sit in a quiet place, play it back and listen. Is this something that gets you excited and you want to hear more. That is what you are looking for. In my early years after the service I had a long commute to work by car, 1.5 hours each way. On my way I would listen to presentations, sales pitches etc. On the way home I would plan my next day. Listening to yourself is very different than hearing your self when talking.

I may be way out of line here, if so completely ignore me. My intentions are good.

Thank you so much, your wisdom is much appreciated!
I was not talking about clients, but about my working environment, to do research, write posts and do all the SEO work.
Love your passion, thank you again
