Hey Katie,

Mike here from http://AffiliateMarketerTraining.com. I noticed you haven't set up your profile on here yet and just wanted to see if you needed any help or had any questions before you really dive in and get your business started? Wealthy Affiliate is a social community and you'll definitely get the most out of it by setting up a profile.

In any case, I hope you're enjoying the training videos here and if you ever have any questions at all please don't hesitate to send me a message! :)

Hey Katie,

To further our conversation, here's some keywords I found that would relate to your articles. The numbers look pretty good to me. See photo attached.

Cheers,

Peter

They all look great but the thing that worried me was that the training video said we should be searching for stuff that brings less than 400 results, eg: natural remedies for rosacea brings up 499,000 results so I figured that this would be pointless, unless I'm missing the point?

Again.. serious thankyous for your help!

OK. I think I see where you've gone wrong. Ideally you are looking for a keyword that gets around 100 searches a month (the more searches the better, but ANY traffic is good) and a QSR (which stands for Quoted Search Result - means the amount of other websites that have the exact same keyword) of less than 100. Does that make sense? So in the case of 'natural remedies for rosacea' - the numbers are '565' searches a month (very good!) and the QSR is '97' (meaning 97 other sites on the entire internet ranking for that keyword) which is excellent! I really think you have a great plan there. I'm interested to see what Kyle says in response to your comment below, but I really think you are onto a winner.

As a side note, I searched a few domains and one I saw that would be a good brand (feel free to use it if you want) was incurablecure and the .com is available!

Hope this helps. Feel free to keep asking questions. I'm so happy to help as I personally believe what you would be doing would be a massive service to the world!

Another strategy that you'll be able to implement is reviewing the products that you use and recommend. If you review the products that you recommend (as a separate blog post from the 'how to cure' posts that you create) you'll also to be able to make good use of the traffic from people that are already aware of the product and want to know more about it (they are probably going to be closer to buying than the people looking for cures - but if you help to educate them as well, then they will likely turn into buyers). You will be able to link from your articles about 'how to cure such and such' to your articles 'my review of [insert product here]'. This strategy will also give you a ton more keywords to work with i.e. - 'product' (insert any product you recommend) + 'review'. So your keywords in this case would be 'herb review - does it really do what they say it does?'. The initial part (herb review) would be the keyword, and then the rest would hopefully create curiosity for readers to click on the article and read it from Google. Does that make sense?

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle

Thanks for getting in touch... you're very correct, that is exactly what I am struggling with. I joined with the idea that I would just fill a website with every single bit of info and knowledge I have and on each page have affiliate links to what ever is relevant for what I'm talking about... then I got through all of the training, up to picking a niche, and realised my super plan was maybe not so super.

If I give you an idea of the kind of content I was planning on, maybe you could cherry pick a couple that you think may be a good niche and I can go from there, and hopefully stop my mind crazily racing with ideas :)

I'll also tell you a bit about myself so you can see the different demographics I slot into.

Before I begin I apologise for just going BOOM and throwing all of this at you but I was avoiding logging in this evening as the whole niche thing has really got me stuck... and then your message was here asking if I needed help... so YES PLEASE!! Help needed ;)

Ok... I am 30, have 2 kids 9 and 3, I'm a full time student (currently taking a year out) studying to become a Medical Herbalist.

My idea was to create a website where I would simply tell people everything I know... I quickly grasped that this was not the best plan :\

I'd planned on turning all of my assignments into blogs, so these would basically be, in depth medical and clinical reviews of around 30 different herbs and their uses for specific health issues, I was going to have different sections for different illnesses and then compare the current general prescribed medication with the herbal alternatives that have scientific and medical evidence confirming their effectiveness. The type of conditions I was planning on focusing on were... thyroid issues (hashimotos), rosacea, fibromyalgia, even restless leg syndrome, basically anything that doesn't have a cure and the current procedure for doctors is to just try any old drug out on the patient to see if it helps, which it generally doesn't and just leaves the patient in a worse situation. I was also going to give instructions on how to make different medicines.

I'd planned on discussing the different foods to take and to avoid for each illness, I was also going to go through the different diets and fitness programmes out there and suggest what would be the most suitable for each condition.

I was going to include information on general health issues such as fluoride in the water and toxins in food and in the air.

All of this would be tied together, so if someone visited the site for example with rosacea, they would have access to up to date scientific and medical research and evidence on; the condition, prescribed medication, alternative meds and foods to take and avoid. They would also learn how to make medicine and a face cream. They'd have info on how to boost their immune system, how to detox properly and how to get rid of all the rubbish in their home air and water.
So basically I'd planned to cure the world of all incurable diseases ;)

Money wise... I'd planned on promoting
*all of the ingredients for what ever they were going to make ie: herbal tinctures, organic produce, bottles etc etc.
*detox supplies
*supplements and vitamins
*air purifiers
*water purifiers
*fitness programs, dvds, equipment

I worked out that I would have 8 different sections, and 35 sub sections once everything was on that I wanted there.

I planned on keeping it very sciency and professional with the plan of offering a paid for course on the basics of medical herbalism and pharmaceuticals (I'd think of a catchier name than that!)

Anyhoo... after all that blaah... that was the old plan... the new one, or should I say the most immediate one, has yet to be set.

I have started the affiliate bootcamp and think that I could happily go down this route initially, but after Googling the many different avenues to take this approach it really does appear to be saturated, quite largely by WA members! and again where to start with a niche...

I'm a little lost as to where to begin, as you may have gathered so any help, suggestions, basically anything will be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks in advance and apologies for the essay!!

Katie :)

Yeah, that is most definitely the direction you could head with your niche (the herbalist one). If this is something that you are passionate about, definitely go for it Katie!

I can see the passion coming through and this will be something that you can easily talk about with your audience.
