Hello Jane:

Clearly once a domain is purchased that domain is yours until expiry. So in a situation as such you will have to wait until the time comes for renewal and then don't renew it thereby you no longer own it.

Moreover, should plan change you can revert to it and start using it! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I've been told I need to change my name servers from ns1.mywahosting.COM to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM . Any suggestions?

Who told you that? Do you really want to have your sites hosted at wordpress.com ?

As a premium WA member, you can host up to 25 domains that you own here at no cost beyond your WA membership.

Why do you want to change the nameservers?
This would move the HOSTING to another company.
Why would you do that?
You have hosting included here in your premium membership.

You are mixing things up here.

Just let the old domain run out.
No need to cancel it.
Just make sure it doesn't renew itself automatically.
You have to check with the registrar where you bought it from.
And we can't know where you bought it.

I purchased the domain name through mywahosting.COM and change it to WORDPRESS.COM

Where do I go to do that?

I'm not sure I understand correctly.

Can you explain step by step what you did and what you want?

You seem to be mixing up domain names with hosting.

Once you bought a domain, you can't change it.
You can only get another domain and let the old one run out.

Not sure what that has to do with WordPress.
It doesn't matter where you bought the domain. You can still host it where you want.

How far are you with he training?
Follow it step by step and things become clear.
