Confession: I Almost Quit Wealthy Affiliate! I Am So Glad I Didn't!
Hello Lovely WA Family
I am pretty sure that my heading says it all.
Yes, sometime around August 2019 I found myself in a bit of a dilemma, the cause of which was own mental weakness. When you read my Bio. you will notice that I come across as sorta a stong willed person.
That' s how I know myself. But even with the strongest minded people, there's a moment of weakness and I too had one. 'Goes to show that I'm not that strong after all. LOL!
Building A Sustainable Business Takes Time And A Hefty Amout Of Patience
I knew this already, but then, I lost my patience. I wanted money and I wanted it fast. I needed to pay for my second yearly subscription fee which was due in October. So as a business person it felt like I was feeding a dead horse.
I mean when you invest in something, you expect ROI right? So here I was after 1 whole year and I was going do dig into my pockets again to pay for my WA subscription. I wasnt going to have it!
Shiny Object Syndrome + Negative WA Reviews
I always like to venture outside Wealthy Affiliate to get more training related to Affiliate Marketing. There is this particular course that captured my attension the most. So much that I felt like Wealthy Affilite did not match up to these guys. To make matters worse I stumbled on one scathing review on Wealthy Affiliate.
This guy tears Wealthy Affiliate down to less than bite size. At that moment I was shaken. I felt like, yeah, this guy is making a lot of sense! Wealthy Affilite could offer more. Why is Wealthy Affiliate not giving me more for the money I pay Them?
Time To Make A Decision - I Am Quitting Wealthy Affiliate!
I had prepared my departing speech and all, ready to throw the towel. But before that I had to summon my level headed self to an internal meeting. She downright told me to go jump in the lake!
How dare I listen to negative reviews? As if I didnt know that there will always be different opnions out there.
And by then I had already started earning some commissions
for reffering students to WA. So was I just gonna throw that away?
What about my websites, where was I going to move them? And the awesome Wealthy Affiliate Community?? The friends I made? The ever present and prompt Site Support. Wait, was I really ready to throw everything away, just like that?
Is that what you've become jane, a quitter?
No way!
And Then It happened!
In September I earned My First Substantial commission outside Wealthy Affiliate and the money keeps coming in. This proves that Wealthy Affiliate Training works. I was super motivated and there was no way I was leaving.
I am Still Here And I am NOT going anywhere!
The Lesson
When you join Wealthy Affiilite Training, come in knowing that you are here to learn and build a business. Wealthy Affiliate will give you all the tools you need. Use them well.
Remember here the foundation of your Affiliate Marketing Buisiness is your website. It takes time to build. It takes time for search engines to trust your website enough to rank it.
But when you follow the WA training build your business well you will be succesful. Wealthy Afiliate is by no means a place you come to if you want to get rich quick.
Wealthy Affiliate teaches you to build a long term business. Your duty is to invest time and money. You will be rewarded. You will make money.
So, here are a few things to remember when you join Wealthy Affiliate
- Wealthy Affiliate is a legitimate Affiliate Marketing training/learning platform.
- Their membership is actually cheap, given what they give us!
- Wealthy Affiliate is not MLM! I dont know why people think it is...
- They will always let you try out the training first for free, but in order to build a successful business you must pay for your training to unlock the whole WA system.
- You work hard to build your business, something you can take pride in it is not a Done-For-You.
- Give it time and trust the WA process
- Follow your training and implement as you go
- There will always be negative stories about Wealthy Affiiliate, read and take important information that will help you build your business
- Learn, explore but beware of the shiny object syndrome. Don't get sidetracked.
- Focus
- There will always be people to hep you when you need help.
Most Important, DONT GIVE UP TOO EARLY,
No, Dont EVER GIVE UP!!!

Hi Jane, thank you for sharing your experience, you underscored that the tools were made available by WA, we need to get familiar with working them. You also said that our website is the most important aspect of our business, that is where am at and I had to break to deal with some matters.

Very encouraging. Thank you for sharing ing your very inspiring thoughts. I guess all of us was in this kind of fear. The fear that we can not pay our bills and all the fears.
If we will entertain this kind of emotion, this will lead us to prostration and eventually to the point of giving up.
A really great post. I have been ‘wobbled’ a bit recently. But like you said you have to keep pushing forward. I have had one particular referral who wanted the shiny lifestyle you mention... and he was only a member a few days. It can be challenging to try and put the shininess to the back of your mind but it had to be done. Thanks for your post.

I think a lot of people can relate to your article! The important thing to remember is perseverance, when times are challenging, focus on your dreams and set goals. Stick to your plan and you will eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Before I depart I leave you with this: Thomas Edison had 1000, failed experiments before the 1001, was the success that created light bulb, if he decided to have quit then the world would be different than we know it today.
Success comes with challenges of all shapes and sizes! Keep pushing, keep Falling forward!
