How many places and where should I submit my articles to?
Im struggling to find information on this topic I'm trying to work out after writing my shinny new article where I should submit it to and if I should restrict the number of sites I place it on. Does google have a recommendation on this?

Article submission is kind of out dated. It used to be that you could spin the same article(make multiple versions of it) and post it on article directories with links back to your website. This would then increase your rankings in the search engines.
Google has since updated their algorithm, so that method no longer works and may hurt your website rankings.
Your best bet is just to post it to your own website.
