Hey guys, quick question:

What were you searching on the internet right before you signed up for WA?

For me it's so long ago that I don't even remember anymore. But

Hi James,
Hope you are well...

How did I come across WA
I was reading reviews on SFM and Affilorma and two separate reviews said to look at WA and Income School and gave a great review of both. I was impressed, but eventually chose WA....however I do still watch the income School guys You Tube vids as they are really good.... and for a bit of alternative motivation I watch You Tube vids about the growth and huge success on one of the SFM entrepreneurs, 😉

Hi Cordelia, I'm doing fine thank you for asking. How about yourself? 😊

Good that you mention the Income School, I'd say that's probably the closest program to WA. Definitely not the same but similar kind of quality & content.

Others successes are a huge motivation - I agree! Thank you for leaving your feedback here & keep up the great work Cordelia! 💪

Hi James,

I am ok, family are ok (in fact the adults are sitting round the coffee table doing a jigsaw,) I love that we have the time to do bugger all, and that we are not running around chasing our own backside, in fact I have never felt so well....I work just 2 days a week and I am already dreading the return to normal hours....😕

I'm happy to hear you are doing well, Cordelia! Life has changed a lot the in last few months, I suspect more changes will come our way even when we go back to before.

I was searching out a product review for scam and stumble across a member website. The training covering scam review works.

Very interesting! Great insight, thanks so much for sharing this, Stanley. Cheers!

I was searching for some decent web hosting.
Glad to say I found it!😀

Oh wow I would have never guessed from web hosting! That's very interesting, thank you very much for replying - much appreciated 😊

I was searching a program to see if it was a scam. I had fallen for too many scams. It was a scam.

I’ll never forget, when I read, no credit card required I had to see if they were telling the truth. Now 2 years later I am still here.

Laura

I have to say, the "no credit card required" was a big one for me too. I remember THAT part 😁 Thank you so much for leaving a reply!

I was freelancing and my son started having health issues to the point where it was difficult to manage client deadlines anymore. I enjoyed working from home, but I was looking for something that was a little less of a time/money exchange. I started reading about affiliate marketing, and noticed that several sites referred people to WA, so I decided to try it out.

I went thru the initial training in less than one week and went premium right away. It's been a great decision.

Hi Tiffany, how is your son doing now? Is he getting better? I hope you are safe during this crisis 🙏 So you got into WA by searching for alternatives for freelancing - such an interesting background, Tiffany, I appreciate you sharing this!

Thanks for asking. My son is much better now. We’ve been enjoying lots of good time together during the lockdown.

I know many people think working from home is the holy grail, but there’s some work you can do from home that’s similar or worse than having a job. I enjoyed freelancing but affiliate marketing gave me much more schedule flexibility.

Agreed, working from home isn't the answer to all work problems. I was also freelancing and some contracts were just hell. Especially when you have a client who only wants to make trouble - you only get paid if YOU find a solution to deal with it.

I'm glad to hear about your son! Health & family is everything, that's why we work on our businesses anyways.

Yes. Those bad clients....they can be tough, but you deal with difficult people everywhere (even as affiliates). Thanks for your well wishes for my family. You're right, that's the #1 reason I chose this business, but I'm so glad my situation led me here.

You've been here since 2012? Wow! Are you doing mostly affiliate marketing now? Are you considering the affiliate marketing niche or a relevant one to WA? Do you still do freelance work?

Yes, I've been here since 2012 but like many young people, it took me a while to understand how important it is to be consistent 🙈 I've had many different niche blogs around all kinds of topics, they were all monetized with affiliate marketing. Later I also started freelancing and I'm also doing consulting from time to time.

That's cool. Consistency is tough to learn, but at least you understand the importance now.

Consistency is everything in this "online game"!

That's exactly why virtually anybody can do this. You don't need to do anything clever or creative. There's no "big move" that nobody ever thought of. None of these things.

It's a proven process that's been repeated by hundreds of thousands of people. And it worked every time.

Just gotta keep writing & creating content no matter what 😂 That's the only reason people "fail", they quit too early or just don't create enough content.

No regrets - but a lesson learned for life!

I want to share my profile here on WA: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jamesprc

Hey I just clicked at the Link you have at the top / this below https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jamesprc
and it takes me to your WA profile Page,

so I just wanted you to know.

Hey Pietro, thanks for your help! Yeah that link works perfectly fine - but it is not an affiliate link unfortunately. It's just a simple profile link. But I want to turn that into an affiliate link for WA.

You can turn any blog post here on WA into an affiliate link, simply by clicking on the "Affiliate Link" at the top. However, this option doesn't exist for our profile pages, which is why I'm asking if anyone knows a workaround.

Thanks!

Yes, you are right I was looking true to find this option, but no mention of it! let see what others more advanced member got to say about it!
hope some of them come forward with an answer.
have a good day;o)

Yes, I hope so too that someone knows more about this! Have a great too, and thanks for your help anyways!

Thank you,

I have seen increasingly more seniors join us here on WA - and also seen several seniors succeed with blogging and affiliate marketing!

This is truly inspiring for me, an

I use FB regularly. I also use Pinterest and occasionally twitter or linkedin. I also answer lots of Quora questions.

Thank you for sharing this Fran! You are very active on social media :D I haven't even given any thought to LinkedIn and Quora. Which one would you say is your favorite for marketing your blogs?

FB

Thank you Fran, much appreciated!

Thank you, James, for thinking of us.

I don't have the habit of social media. I guess it goes along with mobile phones and I don't have one. Still prefer to discuss with real people or to look out of the window when I am in a bus.

I started bravely with Pinterest along the lessons like a good student. I am not sure that they are looked at by other people than those looking for ideas for their own pins.

Personally, if I need a piece of information I will no go there. First I look for a good book and now I search for an authority website that I trust.

My sons are consuming much time with Instagram, but really to me just looking at what others do is a waste of time.

Maybe later when I will be in a home for seniors I will think the contrary (lol).

Thank you Anne for your insightful comment! I really appreciate you shared your view on things.

I guess this is the biggest barriers of all: If you don't know, you can't know! Meaning, if you don't know there are answers to be found on Social Media, there is no way you'd ever go there in the first place.

I am also happy to hear you started with Pinterest. I feel like it is a very soft entry point, there's less commenting and interaction. I'm also not surprised your sons are on Instagram, that is pretty much the hottest platform :D

What surprises me the most is that you, as an experienced affiliate marketer, are still not interested in social media.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that - as Kyle has explained multiple times in the training, it is more of a time waster than it is a viable traffic strategy.

In no way am I judging it.

I would just figured that as an affiliate marketer, you'd be more interested. Maybe there is no need for such guides at all :D

In summary, I don't think anyone is missing out by not using social media.

Thanks again for your comment, it is much appreciated!

Unfortunately, some people treat social media applications as a dating scene.

I have been on social media for many years now but tend to unsubscribe from emails because of the junk I receive.

I know I am also missing some useful emails but one can only take so much junk.

Derek

Hi Derek, thank you for your answer, it is very appreciated!

I have long unsubscribed from all emails too :D I even de-activated all push notifications on my phone because it's just way too much of a distraction.

What I do is, I just log in once a day and check which notifications I have - and react to them accordingly.

Many best regards,
James

Hey guys, does anyone know if this is the official app for Wealthy Affiliate?

Featured Comment

Hi James,

No, there is no WA App. If you were to install this then you would be handing over your account details to a 3rd party which could be a security concern for your account.

We DO NOT endorse this APP and it is a 3rd party application.

Carson

Thank you very much Carson for the clarification! I've just realized that the whole website is mobile optimized, anyways. You guys just can't stop "perfectioning" what you do :D

but in the near future, I look forward to seeing how Carson and his team create one mobile App for our WA-> I'm kind of excited what kind of our future WA app hihi

The WA community features are addictive haha, at the moment I am not sure if the app is going to increase or decrease my productivity xD

sorry but it's a red flag to me. Since I joined this WA from 2018 until now, Kyle - the founder and their team- announce they are still working on that idea. Create and launch a mobile app for this WA is one of their goals, but it's still in the paper.

NO app for our WA YET! (this is what I know so far, until today. Maybe I do not update to date yet, but....)

If you still confused and question, send a pm to Kyle-> he will response back -> these days, look like Kyle and his team has some problems about being hacked

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle

Hey thank you for your detailed answer! Much appreciated! Carson also replied in a comment below, saying that app is NOT official.

Hi - no its not, WA does not have an app.

Thank you Diane! I won't install it.
