First Page Of Google Hype! (Progress Update)
It's been a while since I've made an update about my newest blog. Mostly because I was writing a lot, and creating videos for my YouTube channel whenever I found the time. (Editing videos takes more time than you could imagine.)
I've gotten a few subscribers here and email optins there... but nothing that would warrant a new post here, which is why there wasn't a progress update in a while.
Until now...
I'm happy to say that a blog post has reached the first page on Google!
Here's some info on it:
- Article was published almost 3 months ago (July 2019)
- Average CTR: 6.3%
- Average position: 8.4
Obviously, the position is quite low on the first page - but hey, it's on the first page nevertheless!
I'm quite proud of the 6.3% CTR though, especially considering it's on the bottom half of the page.

Congrats James! That is a good feeling. I recently have had 2 of my posts land on the first page of Google, and another on the first pages of Bing and Yahoo, so I know that it is a great milestone. Keep up the good work, Tom

Just curious when you are checking the statistics are you searching for one or two keywords or typing in your whole post url?
The screenshot above was taken from my site's Google Search Console property:
I went through the list of queries and found one that had several clicks all of a sudden. So I clicked on it, which means it will filter all the data for this particular keyword.
So if I understood your question right: This first page result is for one particular keyword.
I hope I answered that right. Let me know if it's more confusing than helpful so I can try to re-phrase!!
Well done James onward and upward, and as you are showing us persistence and tenacity do eventually pay off....how often are you posting a You Tube vid and how long would you say it takes from writing, editing and eventually posting?

I've been held up with YouTube lately, which I'm quite frustrated about but it was out of my hands... But I post 1-2 videos on YouTube every week - whenever I find a new strategy that I want to share with my viewers!
Editing takes several hours but it's different from video to video - sometimes more, sometimes less. Writing time depends mostly on how much research I do before I sit down to write!

Right on! 3 months is so reasonable ~ I've only been with WA about 1 month, but I've been so busy writing content and building out my website, I haven't even thought about Google ranking and CTRs yet...but it's nice to know the process - with patience - works :)
