2 Weeks Passed - First Search Console Impressions

Today, just a bit over 2 weeks have passed since I started my newest blog, and I've been checking the Google Search Console daily to see when impressions would start happening.

Finally, last week, two of my posts got a few impressions for the first time!

Until last week, I had 0 impressions on my posts. Yes the posts were indexed, but Google wasn't showing them to anyone because as you can see, the average position is wayyyy far back.

The cool thing is I already got a new keyword from the list of impressions! In other words, Google was showing my post for a keyword that I wasn't even targeting.

So today I already wrote a new post targeted at that keyword. (According to Jaaxy that keyword wasn't in the "Great" category, it was only "Normal", but I still went ahead and wrote the post - we'll see what happens.)

Here is a screenshot from my Search Console's impressions graph. The numbers are nothing to write home about...

The point of this post is simply to share progress. And to give an idea of how long it takes to get Google to start showing our posts.

In my case, it took around 2 weeks.

Have you guys also been watching your Google Search Console? When did you get your first impressions?

I'll share more numbers when I've reached another checkpoint.

Until then, keep up the great work everyone!

You are doing well. Keep it up.

I hope your use of the new keyword works out. Usually we don't use those ones with a "normal" QSR, but only the ones below 100 which will be labeled "great."

Yeah the training is very clear on the QSR scores, which is why I was a bit conflicted at first.

However, if Google is already showing my site for a keyword, I figured I should ignore the Jaaxy data (it's only estimates anyways) and listen to Google. We'll be smarter afterwards when we see if it gets traffic or not :D

Thanks for your comment and kind words!
