Hi all,

I've been adding pictures to my profile and I recall hearing Kyle an other users on WA suggest putting keywords in the picture titles to help rank. This sounds li

Thanks guys, I guess I won’t worry about it so much. But from now on I think I’m going to use the keywords once in the alt text and then mix it up a little in the other photos.

NEVER use keywords in the Alt tag unless it makes sense to a reader, else that WILL get you in trouble with Google. Alt tag are for screen readers NOT for SEO purposes.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll remove them or edit them to make them more sensible.

If you use them correctly rather than leaving that field empty, the Alt tags can actually help your SEO.

I put my main keyword in the alt text of my first photo I have on my post. In the other pictures, I will vary the alt text, in the other photos, I will normally add some description that relates more to the picture, but could also be considered secondary keywords.

I just personally put my keyword in one picture per post.... the keyword of the post

Hey James,

Having done the same myself ... only adding "header-image", or "image01", etc. after the post title to my image titles, and I have never been penalized for using such titles.

In my opinion, keyword stuffing would be if you were to OVER use a particular keyword within your post, or stuff the same keyword over and over again in a Meta Tag, or use keywords in your image Alt tags (these are for web page readers, not SEO), etc.

Hope this helps you.

Hi Kyle, I noticed in your lesson on Jaxxy you said that you want a keyword to have a little bit of traffic to avoid too much competition. But if I found a keyword that has a r

That is good, the higher the traffic the better if the QSR is low. Just make sure that the keyword is grammatically correct. Many keywords with high traffic and very low QSR are not grammatically correct and therefor, not really good keywords.

Thanks Marc. I'll double check to make sure they sound okay.

I am glad I could help. Let me know if you need further assistance.
