Creating Articles with Google Docs | A Very Quick Review.

I have been mucking around with Google Docs. I haven't used it much before but I noticed Jay Neil using it on one of his WAbinars recently and figured I needed to give it further investigation.

I have been writing for several years now an I am pretty set in my ways. So trying something new (to me) is a big deal for me... so you will just have to excuse me if I am covering old ground for some of you. BUT - If your a newbie, then WOOHOO.... check it out!

This is a really cool application. Just type in "google docs" on your PC or laptop ( in google chrome) and you will bring up a bunch of selections including the log in.

Setting it up is real easy. If you are already logged into Google on your bowser, you will just log in immediately on Google Docs. Otherwise you need to enter your Google email and password.

Similar Features to MS Word

It has pretty much all the same features as MS Word. But what I really like about it is that you can save your documents that you are working on online. This means that if you happen to be out an about and have your smartphone handy, you can start creating a new article. Note - I had to download a free Google Docs App for my IPhone to do this.

You can collaborate and share docs as well ... via email, social medial etc etc and also save in various formats so you can post article easily on your website.

Need to Download the App

So if you get hit with inspiration while sitting on the beach ( this is literally what I did the other day ) you can start getting words or ideas down on 'paper' (so to speak) and then later you can pick it back up on your laptop in the office or at home and carry on from there. Save a Tree .... download this app.

Voice Recognition - My New Love

What I personally love, is the voice recognition feature. I think I am addicted. Mind you, I had some difficulty with it on the Iphone on the beach, probably due to the background noise.

Anyway, this is my very quick review of Google Docs. Must say, so far I am hooked and can see why people love it.

Let me know your experiences with it.
