U-Turn

I was floundering a bit rereading Lessons 1 and 2 and up to where I left off in Lesson 3 of the Affiliate Bootcamp when I discovered articles by Robert (boomergp08) about niches. On his right sidebar, I saw another article by him that immediately caught my attention:

Robert makes a lot of sense. He completed both programs and has been with Wealthy Affiliate for more than five years. That indicates he's experienced and seasoned. After reading through that above article, I realized I need to stop trying to do too much and stop trying to jump ahead of my knowledge and understanding.

Robert's point that struck home with me was this:

If you have never driven a car before and you were tasked to write website content explaining how to operate a motor vehicle and how that vehicle will benefit the person driving it, do you think you could do a better job than if you actually knew how to drive?
    The simple answer is, No.

He's right. It's so obvious, too. Before I can market Wealthy Affiliate, I need to learn what it is and how it can help people. In addition, he points out that things are taught about marketing a site in the Online Entrepreneur Certification program (OEC) that are not taught in the Affiliate Bootcamp program (AB). Hey, it works for me! I'll complete OEC first, and then I'll tackle (AB).

So, I'm now working on my first post using keywords. It takes a lot of thought and bit of research, but it's an interesting challenge. I'm learning about SERP and getting excited to see my content ranked on Google's pages. Seeing it in Yahoo! and Bing will be even more exciting.

Okay, enough about that. Back to work. . .

James

Hi James,
Definitely a great point you're making here!

When I joined Wealthy Affiliate I started out with the Online Certification courses, but then got sidetracked and started Bootcamp too, lol. Big mistake, I went nowhere fast!

Like yourself, I found it very hard to write about something I didn't really know much about, so once I realized that, I focused back on the O.E.C. courses. I picked up where I left off on writing about a niche I did know about while finishing those lessons and it's definitely been worth it. Then, I started a second niche, which is doing quite well as far as my goals so far.

Eventually, I plan on going back over to BootCamp, but to find the time lately has been impossible...it seems those niches have kept me pretty busy!

Thanks for sharing!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Thank you, Sherry!

I'm glad to hear about your adventure, here, too. Also good to hear that you started a second niche that is keeping you busy and providing you with success.

When we have time... we can get back to Bootcamp. :D

Best wishes to you, too. :)

James

Thanks for sharing :) I've just began lesson 2 and I will, after I've finished the OEC programm, do also the AB programm, it's certainly won't hurt me.

You are welcome, Joel.

Thanks for sharing Robert’s point James. That’s a good realization to a newbie like me. It drives me more to continue learning about WA.

Rowena

You're welcome, Rowena. :)

A good driver does not make good teacher nor a good pupil...

Great share!
So true

That is very true James 1-4. The online Enterprenure Certification seems to have too much to learn. I thought i was slow but i have discoverd that this is not a race i need to graps every bit of information for the betterness of my website and business. Its all about what i want for the future and not how fast i finish. I am still in stage 2 writting a hanging fruit post.
