You make link to anything at WA, this is recommended. Make sure that your affiliate link is embedded, so you can get referrals that way. But including stuff from WA is not allowed and practically not possible.

little bit confused now, your first 2 sentences you say i can include anything from WA, but you end off with saying it's not allowed or possible?

I said you could make link, not you could include.

Keyword, Niche and Market Research

Hi There

I am missing something very important, i did my research on the keyword i want to use for my website and Jaaxy and WA found that the keyword only have 25 QSR and

Google includes related searches based on the keywords, so the results are a lot higher.

this is by miles the best and most responsive online community ever! thanks

Greetings Jacques!

The huge number of results is a bit inflated, because Google throws everything into it - including duplicate content. To find out the 'real' number, click on page 10 of the Google results pages, then click on the last available page of the search results again, etc - until you get to the last result returned by Google.

That number will be much smaller, and reflects the actual number of other websites you're competing with, and it's the number reported by Jaaxy and the Keyword Tool.

Now go back to the first page of the search results and make sure if you compete for that keyword, you won't be competing with 10 of the Internet's biggest giants. Don't just find out how many competitors you have, find out if you can unseat them.

Best of luck with it!

Dennis

Thanks for the detailed walk through Dennis, so I can trust the Jaaxy results basically? I hear what you saying with looking at the top 10 results, how do you decide whether or not you can unseat them? I understand if you referring to huge corporations like Samsung or IBM and the likes, on the keyword i searched it was not big or well known corps more blog type websites?

Hi Jacques -

I use the monthly search and QSR metrics of either Jaaxy or the Keyword Tool, and feel they both give accurate results. I also review the first page of the search results - but the results of that review are somewhat subjective.

I take a close look with my Mark 1 calibrated eyeball, and give it my best SWAG (sophisticated, wild a$$ed guess) to decide whether its something I should go after. If the sites are not so well known or seem reltively small, I'll go for it.

If all goes well I'll come out near the top of the heap in a few weeks or a month. If not...

On to the next!

Dennis

valuable info Dennis, thanks a lot i will keep that in mind going forward. You just made me realise that the bigger the site content wise the harder it will be for my smaller niche site to dethrone it :-(

That's why you want to start small and simple, gradually building a web site Google and the other search engines will consider an authority.

Once you've passed that hurdle, it'll be easier to attack the big guys (or gals).

Dennis

Did you put it in quotes. It changes the results to 12900. I think the numbers jaaxy produces are for formulated results.

thanks rushmore i see what you mean, i still cant figure how Jaaxy gets to 25 QSR thou, so we just trust Jaaxy is that the rule of thumb going forward?

The keywords work well for me.

WA Affiliate Program

Hi community, i need some advice as i am somewhat confused after going through the "Target Audience for wealthy affiliates" blog. In the example Kyle take the target audience "mini

I think you will find that Kyle was giving targets for creating an online business, to increase their income from minimum wage to a higher form of income, it would cost them less than a cup of coffee a day to achieve that.

thanks for your response @Gdodd, what confused me about his approach was that he used "minimum wage" as his starting point, if i think of the term i would type that into google to find information like statistics about minimum wage earners. I am struggling to see why this was used instead of as an example "help with online business", which might be something the minimum wage audience searches for. I am struggling to make the connection between the actual target audience and trying to think out what they would search for in google to earn additional income online, what am i missing?

He was using the phrase as a possible keyword in a blog, ie:"are you on a minimum wage" would you like to increase your earning power, something similar to that,

aah ha, i see said the blind man to his deaf son ;-)

Lol! your welcome.
