Wow! That's a big step you want to take there. Is it your Barenakedscam site? I'm not sure I would do such a thing.... have you contact support here for advice?
Hey Guy,
Its barenakedmarketing site.
I wouldn't dare touching barenakedscam. Lol! Too much at stake.
Barenakedmarketing site is not getting anywhere and I have a new angle for my new site.
Yes, you can use copy and paste from the old site to the new site. Then go to Settings > Reading in the old site and tick the box to discourage indexing.
Make sure you don't have automatic renewal on the old domain name so when the name expires it will disappear.
I just had another thought Jack. Make sure you upload all the images to the new site. If they're linked to the old site they'll disappear.
If your website is outside of WA. Then you can transfer your website to WA. There you can transfer your content over with no problems at all. Applies if your website is already with WA.
I don't intend to use WA hosting for my new website.
Will it have any consequences (duplicate content) if I manually copy my content and paste as a new post in my new website?
What if I want to completely shut down my current site? I'll manually copy and paste the content to my new site as new post. Is this advisable?
If possible can anyone tell me how to completely shut down a website?

I like Marion's answer, and I also know if you delete the old posts from the previous site, save them in Word or Notepad, wait 48 hours, then post the same content on the new site it is no longer considered duplicate content by Google.

I believe many here have said in the past never to depend on any one source for traffic generation for this exact reason. It can change at the speed of an algorithm change.
Zuckerburg acknowledged that the company may take a hit with its revenues from this new initiative. If you think about that statement for a bit, it's not likely to last forever. Zuckerburg has stockholders he has to answer to no matter how noble he is trying to appear. At the end of the day, you shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you.

It's ok. You're not doing anything wrong. Just move on to your next quality post, do good keyword research, and optimize it as best you can for SEO. Not every post you write is going to instantly pop up high in Google search results right after you publish it. Some will rank high, some won't. Some will rank higher later as your site as a whole starts developing. Just continue with content creation and don't worry about checking where each post ranks. Push forward with great content and Google will reward your efforts :)
Two content with similar headers, google ranks wrongly, how?
