I'm often asked "Steve, how much money do you make per month?" Quite often, in fact. Maybe a little too often.

I hate this question because A. It's fairly rude! and B. Income "proof" is easily faked.

Instead, what I like to share are my photos from trips we've taken around the world. These can't be faked and it does prove that I'm able to live the lifestyle I often talk about.

Here are a few of my previous posts in case you've missed some of them...

12 Months of Travel

I've Got the Freedom to Work Anywhere in the World

Where I've Been Lately (Spoiler: Ireland)

The Greatest Perk Internet Marketing Has to Offer

Photography is easily my biggest hobby, second only to travel. Good thing they go hand-in-hand as this allows me to share my travels with all of you.

Mind you, I didn't join Wealthy Affiliate last year, or even the year before that. I joined back in 2009 and have been busting my butt ever since.

We recently just got back from a long trip. Amanda and I spent most of March in Los Angeles and Hawaii on the Big Island and Maui. I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from the trip.

The first few days were spent around LA. We got to see some interesting sights around Venice Beach...

And the Santa Monica Pier...

Before heading to the Big Island to see the still active volcano...

And again at night...

We were able to walk through the now-cooled lava tubes as well...

And then we were off to Maui. If you've read any of my posts in the past, you'll know I have an unhealthy obsession with taking whale tours...

But I mean, come on, how could you not...

We did spend some time off the water. Here's Amanda and I at the end of one of our hikes where we found a heart-ish shaped rock...

It's also not Hawaii without a few waterfalls...

And honestly, nothing beats a Maui sunset...

They're unbelievably gorgeous.

The trip wasn't all pleasure either. We did plan the trip to meet another WA member.

That's DomW. He joined Wealthy Affiliate through me way back in 2012 and we've really been friends ever since. He did blog about the trip from his perspective here: Meeting My Mentor in Maui

It was an honor to finally meet him. I had been offering him guidance since he's joined, and these days he's inspiring ME. I even find myself turning to him for advice these days. Funny how that works.

Being able to meet Dom in Maui proves one thing really:

My story isn't unique.

And that's a good thing.

It just means that any one currently reading this post is more than capable of creating the life they want to achieve. Dom and I aren't special. We're hard workers. We know what we want to achieve in life and don't stop until we're there.

Always remember that.

Great story, Steve ! And clearly what it is "all about" ! Being able to explore what the world has to offer and to be able to do it at one's leisure. Obviously, you have earned this position in life, which is something we can only hope to emulate ! Congratulations ! :)

I love it. I of my own desires is travel. The way you present your success with WA is inspiring to me. Over the last twelve years, I've traveled to Europe, Alaska & Hawaill, plus half the states on the Continent as a Mental Health Counselor with the Military. But I don't have the freedom that you do with WA. I'm following you as you continue to share your story, wisdom and success. Congratulations for the dream you're living with your family.

I like that you mention "We're Hard workers". It is true that each of us want to be successful in this awesome business by either focus or work hard. I know I enjoy work hard. It makes me feel good about my work ethics. Thank you for sharing your experience, tips, and much more. I never ask you for information on infographic! :-) I look forward to learn more from you when you put new posts on WA. By the way, thank you for sharing yours here. Cheers, Peter

I followed the 'meeting my mentor'... link. It is wonderful to have these testamonials to share with others.
People who blatantly ask how much money do you make here at WA are the same ones who ask questions on dating websites such as: How much do you weigh; how many relationships have you been in, how old are you and, of course, how much is your salary.
Your friend Dom openly showed his $$ and how it followed Craig's (labmans) idea of how the journey works. There are people who really need to see a $$ visual like that to float their boat.
His material is genuine and totally believable.
If someone was getting frustrated they would only need to read a little from one person such as yourself here at WA to get motivated again.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful pics. Hawaii and Ireland are my dream trips.
I loved Vegas and won.t let myself go back until I go I earn the trip with WA.
See you there one day!

Wow great pictures!! I'd love to go and see Maui as well. I believe with hard work, you can make anything possible. I hate people say to me "must be nice to be able to travel to all those places (that I'm going to in the upcoming months), and I just say to them, "Go! Make it happen." I bust my butt to do everything that I want to do in life, and if anyone else wants to do the same thing, just DO IT!!

Anyways, I can't wait to check out your blog posts when I get a chance!

Steve, I have so many cameras and pairs of binoculars and scopes, it's ridiculous, but I like to look at things, especially birds and to photograph them (some I later paint), but the photo of you and your bride in front of that heart-shaped heart is so sentimental and wonderful in that it shows you two are deeply in love. And Dom, it was go glad to hear from him visiting with you in Hawaii and him getting married there. Nice! Well, I'm too old for all this mushy stuff. lol You and I are different. I have helped my family members gain significant income but have not done all that much for myself, especially lately. lol John

Great post, Steve! I also agree, as did others that some things - the amount of money you make - is private. It is also quite rude of a person to even ask. But SOME people will be people I guess. They fail to fully engage their brains before opening up their mouths.

I loved especially the photos of Hawaii, including the two near the bottom in which you captured the setting sun. I have been to Hawaii 6 times myself through the years stretching from 1981 - 2012. I was fortunate on my last trip three and a half years ago, (fall of 2012) to twice catch a perfect sunset in Waikiki; that being when the sun un-obscured by clouds sets right into the Pacific Ocean. On my 5 previous trips out to Hawaii it did not happen even once.

As far as Hawaii goes and the islands that I have managed to visit during my trips, (the Big Island, Oahu and Maui) I believe that there is no other place like it on the Planet.

Thank you for sharing these photos which gives us a glimpse into the life that both you and your wife Amanda are able to have - alongside your both continuing to build your online business.

Jeff

We've been a few times to Maui and haven't seen the sun set unobstructed yet. We always look for that mythical green flash, but haven't found it. I think this means we just have to keep going back until it appears.

This is definitely some "lifestyle" proof which is far more valid and important than any form of income proof.

You are a testament of what hard work and dedication can lead to and the fact that you travel more than anyone I know is a pretty good indication that this is the sort of lifestyle that you can lead while still maintaining your business, while still experiencing growth, and definitely while joining life.

Love the post Steve and some pretty awesome pics here!

I didn't think we'd top last year's travel plans, but this year is already shaping up to be even busier. Work always comes first, naturally, but the ability to travel wherever and whenever can't be beat.

lol the cold and the snow I can get on with its the damp that chills the bones I expect you will be working on another trip , my plan for the future is to get some sun in the winter not too hot mind you I like staying in Scotland when the nights are light lol

I'm glad we're more open about a lot of things, but some things should stay private.

I remember when asking someone what kind of job they had was just never done. It was taken as a way to size someone up without getting to know them. As for asking about pay, that definitely would have crossed a sacred line.

That said, your pictures show us all that's needed. Congratulations!

LOL if you remove the Internet from the scenario, you'd never introduce yourself to someone and then ask them how much money do they make in the next breath. Funny how the screen between us makes people think that is OK.
