Tips To Stay Motivated When Things Are Not Going Your Way
Hey guys and gals! I hope you're having a great Friday!
I know I'm not haha, which is why I wanted to share this post with those of you who tend to lose motivation when things get thought and rough.
And they do from time to time. That's how it is in business and in life in general. You can't always win, but you don't have to sink down in misery when you're not winning.
I personally use a lot of different techniques to keep my head above the water when my business is seemingly going down.
I use the word seemingly because things are not always as they appear.
If you work on your business consistently, despite the fact it might appear to be going down, it's not actually. In most cases, it's just the silence before the storm of good things that are coming your way.
And until they do, you must stay calm and positive.
So without further ado, if you need some PRO tips on how to stay motivated when things are not going your way, keep reading this post...
Tip #1 - Have A Rock Solid Game Plan And Stick To It
Goals are hard to reach. And goals without a plan are just a wish.
So before we even start, I hope that you have a plan of action, a business plan, bullet points, or any other form of a plan for your business.
And if you do have one, when things get tough and rough, all you have to do is stick to your game plan and eventually, you'll get back on track.
I like to use analogies when explaining stuff so let's roll one here.
For example, top sports teams and players always have a rock-solid game plan which is one of the main reasons why they are at the top of their respected games.
You might think it's a talent, or they're some sort of aliens, but it's not like that.
All top athletes have game plans that they use to win games. Just ask any coach in the world of sport what is his or her top strategy to lift his team back up after losing a game and he will agree with me.
It's simple. They go back to the gym and work on their game plan and in 99% of the cases, they come back stronger than ever.
So if you have a game plan that has been working well for you in the past, just go over it, keep working on your craft, and stay positive.
You can't always control your circumstances, but you can control your actions!
Tip #2 - Visualise Positive Results In Your Mind
Another great tip for staying motivated when things are not going your way is a visualization of positive results.
As Napoleon Hill said in his book "Think and Grow Rich": "Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can and will achieve."
One of the best techniques to conceive positive results when things are rough and tough is relaxation and visualization.
And no, you don't have to climb the top of the mountain and wait for some miracle vision to enlight you.
All you have to do is sit back in your living room or any other cosy and quiet place, take 10-15 deep breaths, let your body and mind relax completely, and slowly start visualizing great results.
See more traffic. Visualize more sales. See yourself helping people who need your help. Visualize things running smoothly and before you know it, they will.
Once again, if you're into sports, this is what most top athletes use to stay confident in their game when they lose a few.
Tip #3 - Read And Watch Inspiring Books And Videos
If you have troubles visualizing positive results, which might occur, especially if you're a beginner, you could try reading and watching inspiring books an videos.
YouTube is a huge library of great motivational videos.
Also, you can download 100's books on your phone and read a few lines whenever you feel demotivated.
This little trick will help you a lot as well.
Tip #4 - Exercise To Release The Stress
When things are not going your way, you become tense and stress starts to build up in your mind and body. And the more you let it build up, the worse for you.
One of the best ways to decompress your mind and body is physical exercise.
I'm not going to bother you with why it is because it just is and we all know that.
I jog 3 times a week and I exercise my body for 30-60 minutes almost every single day, and I suggest some form of physical exercise as well.
Exercise helps me to let go of thoughts about negative results that might be appearing at the moment and focus on my game plan and everything good that I do with my online business.
You don't have to hit the weights and turn into a gym-beast all of a sudden.
However, a daily walk or a light jog around the neighbourhood by yourself or with a dog, or with the wife of the husband or with the friend will do you a lot of good and help you to keep your head above the water when things are rough and tough.
Not only that but also, you'll improve your overall health!
So two bird with one stone :)
Tip #5 - Don't Complain About It
Most people tend to complain about their difficulties and problems to their friends, family members, or their pets. This is perfectly normal human behaviour.
However, complaining is just like taking Aspiring when you have a headache.
It's not going to help you to eliminate the cause of the headache. It just covers up the symptoms. And it's just a matter of time before it appears again.
I'm not saying that you do, but when you're complaining about a seemingly negative situation, you're giving more power to those negative thoughts and are creating more of the same, which could get you in a downward spiral.
And usually, it does. Just observe the world around you. Most people seem to be complaining about the same things over and over and over again.
And what do they get as a result? More and more of the same over and over again.
So if you're getting seemingly negative results with your business, just use one of the four tips from the above and eliminate the negative pattern before it takes over!
Tip #6 - Take A Break And Just Relax
Sometimes, all you need is a break to forget about everything and recuperate.
I mean, we all do! No matter how much you're passionate about what you do, and how much you love your work, you simply can't be on it 24/7/365.
Sometimes, negative results are a signal to stop, drop, and relax :)
While taking this break, you can use any of those first four tips from this post to improve your mental game and the physical game as well.
And if you do so, you'll do yourself a great favour because once you gather yourself together, you'll come back stronger than ever and ready to rock and roll.
Conclusion - Let the Game Come To You
I'm a big sports fan.
One of my favourite advice came from Michael Jordan when he said to Kobe Bryant "Don't force the game, kid. Let the game come to you."
Kobe did exactly that and thanks to this advice, he was what he was and actually still is one of the BEST athletes that this world has ever seen (RIP Mamba).
I used to force things all the time, and sometimes I still do because I want the results so bad.
But you can't force life to give you what you want just because you want it right now. You have to work for it, stay positive, do your best, and eventually, the game (life) will come to you.
It will. It always does :)
