A Million-Dollar Advice From a Super-Affiliate

If I could go back in time and give one piece of advice to myself at the beginning of my affiliate journey, I would have said: Keep it simple, stupid!

In other words, don't complicate! Just keep it simple, stupid!

I have noticed a blog post the other day here on WA talking about the KISS principle where a member explained how this principle came to existence so I won't' bother you with those details.

However, I would like to send the same advice to all people who are just getting started their WA journey or are currently engaged in building their sites.

Keep it simple, stupid!

There's no need to invent the wheel all over again. It's already here. You just have to understand how the wheel works and use it for your own benefit.

So how does KISS work in connection to affiliate marketing and your website?

Relevant search term --> relevant content --> relevant offer = lots of sales

1.) WA training teaches you how to find search terms (keywords) in your niche that you can leverage to get your website to show up for those exact terms.

Focus on creating a huge list of keywords that are relevant to your niche!

2.) WA training teaches you how to create content relevant to those search terms that helps people to solve their problems.

Focus on creating relevant super helpful and informative content targeting those keywords!

3.) WA training teaches you how to find affiliate products and programs that are relevant to your niche so you can promote them to your audience to earn an income.

Focus on promoting relevant products to your audience!

If you can do this, I can guarantee to you that you can make lots and lots of sales. You can use this process to make hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, and even millions of dollars online!

Just Keep It Simple, Stupid! :)

So following the same advice, I will end this post and leave you with this few simple (but powerful) pieces of advice that help you to avoid many beginner mistakes such as chasing shiny objects, overcomplicating the process of content creation, not making as many sales as you would like, etc.

Your friend,

Ivan :)

Thank you for this supplement of an advice I shall intake every step of the way.

It is so true.

Also, nice website by the way. Congratulation on your concise and valuable content. According to Alexa, I can also see you've achieved a very enviable ranking too!

Good Job! Very inspiring!

Olivier

Thanks, Oliver! Best of luck to you too :)

Thank you for your excellent advice, Ivan.
But pardon me about the following question, for I belong to the old school.
"Focus on creating a huge list of keywords that are relevant to your niche!"
I've been hearing of creating a keyword list, but I never understood its full importance.
Does it mean that I can use these same keywords over and over in different situations?

Many thanks for considering my request.

Good question. Each keyword, or as I prefer to call it, a phrase, is intended to form the basis for a post for your website.

When you’re looking for a solution what kinds of phrase or words do you enter into the search engine?

Research your potential customers. Think of the kinds of products or solutions they are looking for in your niche. If you were then, what would you enter in the search engines?

The idea is not to rehash the same solution over and over again. But it is perfectly fine to address related issues that could use related keywords.

Use Jaaxy to help you find the keywords that meet the criteria taught at WA. The goal is to find low competition keywords that can rank high.

Does this help?

Cheers.

Edwin

I would suggest reading Edwin's answer. He said it very well.

First of all, thanks a lot, Edwin, for your time.
Sorry to bother you (I hope I understand what you're trying to say), but what is the need to keep a related keyword list if it won't be helpful for future posts?

Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!

Recently took a Premium Plus + says that sometimes keywords may not currently have potential however this may change in the future dependent context, you may want to keep it in a list and see its progress if you believe it may become a keyword goldmine.

Hope this helps

Thanks!

So very welcome.

Much obliged and best wishes.

Hello Ivan,

I hate complicated stuff. It comes down to doing simple, but effective things really well. Really, really well.

Strange, it seems it’s more easy to complicate something than to keep it simple. We often confuse what we do by trying to impress our audience rather than caring for them enough to help them solve their painful problem.

Thanks for this simple but amazing post.

Edwin

I would agree with you 100% Edwin.

Hi Ivan, and thank you so much for your post. That's exactly me, overcomplicating things, and maybe that is why I am still struggling with my website a little bit.

I have been here since April, been going through the training, started building my website, didn't like how it was looking. I couldn't get things quite the way I wanted (overcomplicating, stupid), lol, and so I deleted it and started over again.

Now, I am a little more pleased with it but then just got back online after being off for two weeks, which probably affected my website.

So yes, it's been really frustrating but reading your post made me see how everything is there for me; all the tools I need, I have just been overcomplicating everything—making it harder than it really is.

Thank you
Virginia

Glad to hear that you're back on the track, Virginia. I've been in your shoes. I guess that's a part of the process as well :) But if you can learn from your mistakes and are willing to start over, you WILL achieve success! Keep moving forward and best of luck.

Ivan, this is a good reminder for the more seasoned members and a major point for our new members to keep in mind as they move forward.

I wrote a blog post on the KISS Principle in January 2020 and I know that others have spoken to it also.

Thank you for keeping us on track.

Cassi

I might have ready your post too and got inspired to share :)

That's fine, Ivan. :-)

Thank you.
Cassi
