When I add posts to my site, they show on the home page, but they don't show on the parent page. I've gone in to make sure I have the right category selected, but I know I'm mi

Sorry...it's April Fool's Day and I just don't know who or what to trust.

Found the answers. Thanks for helping!

Not sure what you mean either, can I see your site ?

https://theiphonegirl.com/

Example - I just added a post under the category DIY repair. It shows on the home page, but does not show if you click on DIY repair in the menu.

The DIY repair in the menu is a ''page''. Pages show in the menu. You have made a ''post'' it will show on your home page, this is known as ''the blog roll''. It will show your latest posts first.

If you want categories to show you will have to use the category widget and set it accordingly.

There is some training somewhere about the differences between pages and posts.

Okay perfect. I think the category widget sounds like what I need. Thank you!

I don't have recording equipment as of yet, and I would like to record some quality videos for tutorials. (They will be showing my hands and a work space.) What are people usin

You have a good deal of suggestions here...have you tried any of them yet?

No sir, not as of yet, only because I haven't had the opportunity.

Hey Jennifer,

Doing a quick Google search for "how to create great videos on a budget" (without the quotation marks, of course) I was offered several posts with different suggestions that may interest you.

You may want to run the same search and peruse some of these posts. One of them may surprise you.

Thanks guys for all your help! It's not for screen videos, it's all external, but this gives me a good place to start!

Screencast-O-Matic is the best option. it is simple to use and especially when you are just starting out, it will be perfect.

I am using Screencast-O-Matic and I also use Easy Sketch Pro to make Doodle/whiteboard videos.

I'm really not sure if either of these work on an I-Phone. I think Easy Sketch Pro has a MAC version.

I started out using my phone (Android) to start out with. For on-screen stuff... Screencast-O-matic for sure. I now use an inexpensive video cam for external stuff. Once in a while I'll still just use my latest phone (Galaxy S-7)

Many have been using Screencast-o-matic to create training here. I do not think it is compatible wit the iPhone however. You can get the Magistro video editor and movie maker app from the App Store. It's a free app, maybe give it a try.

I'm looking for recommendations for an app/software that can put the audio from my video into a text format.

I have used Dragon for years...but I bought it when they had "specials"...

Thank you both - I'll look into both of them. The mistakes are no problem. I would have a lot of editing to do anyway, as these are for tutorials and I only want the meat of it in text form.

Some people use Dragon Naturally Speaking. It's not free.

I wanted to recommend that as well...but then I found that little video below. :)

I found this little video:

You still have to check for mistakes, of course.
No program will do this 100% without mistakes.

Okay so I have my Menu pages and everything up, and I'm ready to add content. My question though ... should these just kind of be introductory pages? If I'm understanding it co

The nomenclature you have adopted may be confusing me.

During the lessons, 'posts' refer to content on the main or home page and pages are what are included in the tabs (other than home)

The 'pages' are not treated the same way as the front page as each new piece of content is it's own page.

Hmmm. Okay. Let me think on this.
Would you mind taking a look at my website?

Of course, send your url
