My Honest Review and First Impressions of WA
Disclaimer
Dear reader, I’m in no means trying to make any criticism of the WA platform, it’s an amazing idea and a great tool. This review is intended just to express my experience so far in using WA tools and platform, please don’t get me wrong.
I hope that you get my point of view, being someone from a different culture, here in Brazil, internet marketing is still in first steps, not that we don’t have great names in the market (I just can’t remember any as I’m writing ).
I Hope you en
joy the ride while I’m trying to make the pieces fit into the puzzle (or fit into each other ).
Thanks for coming!
Baby Steps
I started with the initial free training (as I’m a free user of WA) and about 2 days I had my website with some content running.
Following the videos was fairly easy to use the platform and have everything working, apart from the premium packages being offered (like all the time), and I do believe that some things would be easier (or should I say faster) to complete with the premium package, but the free tools can get the ball rolling and allow me jump to more complex things.
The website creation is the wordpress default and was pretty straightforward, as it should be. If you have any experience with wordpress, the easier will be, if not, the free course videos get you through the entire process, from selecting the niche, name and theme, to content creation.
The niche creation (aka finding a niche) was not very well explained, and it is the first (and more important) topic. They do show some tools you can use to find a niche, but overall not very much was said about how to find the profitable ones, or how to identify the easier ones to enter, etc. I do believe, however, that on the premium content they go deeper on the subject.
But hey, everyone needs to make money (we’re all trying here, right?), and they need a selling point. And as we all know nothing is free… Well, maybe the air… for now…
Ok, now I have my website built using the embed wordpress tool and a free domain name they gave me with the “.siterubix” termination, as far as I could find we can have up to two free domains (this information was not easy to find, as they don’t show on you profile).
They do send a lot of emails to you, daily, It gets annoying overtime, specially calls to the training, more so if already did that one. But I was able to disable (rá how fun!) notifications by mail on my profile settings.
Enter the content creation tool
Following the (natural) course, I begin the content creation for the website.
They introduce us to the writing platform that make easy for us to post content, and show us some data as we are writing, like number of words, headings, etc. This is important for SEO purposes, aka rank well in google searches (yes, Google! 😌).
It’s nice to have some guidance as you write. They have a Grammar tool, very useful if you writing posts in English to your website, not my case, though.
I did miss a keyword density tool, to measure how many times we used keywords on our pages and articles, it’s a well known fact that Google dislikes turkey pages (it’s a fancy name for “keyword stuffed pages”, well, not that fancy), I am not sure if premium users has access to that kind of tool.
By the course, the first page we create is a “About Us” and the second is “Privacy Policy” and it is a nice start, as far as I can see.
Both pages have templates you can use, making really easy to complete them, It takes, maybe, no more than 10 minutes to complete and publish both pages.
Moving on… Nothing to see here...
The First (Actual) Post (or is it?)
SEO, yay!!!
Wait, what is that again? 🤔
In internet streets lingo, SEO is a bunch of techniques we use to write, post and spread content so Google like us enough to put our articles on the first page or search results, said a friend of a friend of mine.
And, as we know, first page means (free) visitors to our websites, and visitors convert to sales! money! Dim dim!
We have the research tool, named Jaaxy, 30 keyword searches with heavy limitations on the free plan.
The tool shows us important things, like related keywords, average monthly searches, estimative of visitors if you rank first page of search engines, number of websites ranking with that keyword, if the keyword is good for SEO and the difficulty to rank with that word.
I did not find where to filter the search by country or idiom, so if you are outside US, will not be so useful.
They go to a good explanation on how to do keyword research on Jaaxy, if you have premium you can do many more, making the process easier.
My website is not in US English so I jumped to Google Keyword Tool and did some research, now I’m ready to proceed to my content creation! Yuhuu! Clicking next… And…
Bang! Face to the premium wall! According to the course, my next step is to Upgrade to a Premium Member, am I ready to do that? Not quite…
Conclusion
Since the beginning of the course the instructional videos was very, well, instructional, and helped me get this far on the creation of my niche website fairly easy and fast.
Even though English it’s not my mother tongue I was able to comprehend and execute the topics with no experience with the platform. Each video has a text transcription that helps to understand the topic.
I’m pleased with the content I had access as a free user, It’s good to have some guidance and a place to center information, so I don’t get too overwhelmed.
And then there is the community, people seems to be very eager to help, I myself was able to help someone and it’s a good feeling.
As WA tools did help me reach this point real easily and fast, I think I’ll research a little by myself on how to create content, and try and create some articles.
I’ll come back to this review later, or maybe just create a new blog post, what do you think?
If you reach this point I have but to thank you for coming along with me, so, Thank you! 😁
Good Luck.
Cheers!
