After more than 15 years of experience in direct sales, where I had come to live to work, and not the other way around, I came to that crossroads where I had to make a choice. To continue in the same direction as before, or to begin to know and enjoy the other side of life. The decision is made, so here I am. Where the unknown path will take me, remains to be seen.

Hi Nathaniell,

I think each of us has more passions, but in my case, in the current situation where I have to build an online business around one of them, it is not an easy choice.

Online business is different from offline business.
nathaniell Premium Plus
Finding a good niche is a big challenge for a lot of people, but I'll share my process with you, and I think it'll help you pick a good one. Actually, ANY niche can make money, so you definitely shouldn't worry too much if your niche is profitable or not.

You can brainstorm some products you might want to promote by searching in Google or Amazon, but in my opinion, there are more important things to consider! As far as competition goes, that's also something to not worry about. If there's competition, it just means people are making money. That means you can make some too! As time progresses, new products come out, new technology is introduced, new ideas formed, and each change is an opportunity for "the new kid" to get a foothold and overtake established websites.

So the big question is not, "what is going to make money?", but instead, "what do you want to make money with?"

In other words, what are your own interests?

What do you think would be interesting to research and write about?

What do you want to help people with?

A good sentence to help you decide your niche is "I want to help people _____"

Helping people is the best way to make money in any business. Everyone wins. They get a good product. The seller makes a sale. You earn a commission.

If you really can't think of anything based on that information, I just try to pick something that I find interesting. You'll be doing a lot of research and writing on the topic you choose for your site, so make it about something you'll enjoy writing and learning about.

There are literally thousands of affiliate programs, products, and ways to make money in any niche or industry if you get creative. All of that will come into focus in Level 3 of your training, so for now, we just need to look at getting your topic chosen, your website built, and then start creating awesome content for your business!

So what are you thinking - does that spark any ideas for you?
Hi Nathaniel, I'm a little bit confused about the concept to narrow down the niche.

I don't understand why it is not recommended to create a website more broad, so that I can write easily and unlimitedly about different topics related to the main niche?

In my opinion, I consider that by segmenting the niche I will be in the situation of being limited to writing articles. Can you explain to me the benefit of segmentation? Thank you in advance.
nathaniell Premium Plus
By narrowing your niche and limiting your audience, you become an expert in one field. You can then write about the details of a topic, and get ranked for low competition keywords. If you go broad, you are competing with big sites like Amazon or Yahoo for ranking. When you go narrow, you are only competing with other experts, so it's easier to get ranked.

Plus, narrow topics get more engagement since you are talking to people who are very interested in the topic. Broad searches are often just for browsing, and don't lead to sales.

The best way to narrow down a niche is to think about the type of person you're writing for, and how they are unique to other "sub groups" in the broader category.

For example, "dog lovers" is a category, but how to Pitbull lovers differ from Yorkie lovers? How do rescue dog lovers differ from purebreed dog lovers?

If you want to focus on a range of products, you can do that too. I'd caution against writing about a single product though. You might get bored writing about it over and over again unless it really is multifaceted.

For example, if I was writing about a wireless iPhone charger, I wouldn't know what to say after I published 2-3 articles. But if I was writing about my Chevy Colorado, I could write for many years about troubleshooting, customizations, new models, etc.

If you are looking at just one product to promote right now, and wondering what others would be a good fit, think about what else would a person buying that product also need or want?

Then, think, what is the connecting thread between those things?

For example, someone buying a lightweight golf club driver might also want some high performance golf balls, so maybe you want to do a site all about high performance golf equipment.

Or maybe that same person buying a lightweight driver has a physical condition where they cannot golf with heavy clubs. The connecting thread in this case would be golfing with disabilities, and that could be a potential direction too.

So what do you think Indyra? We can brainstorm some more if you need!
Thank you, Nathaniel, for the detailed explanation. Can you tell me please, do you think K-Beauty (korean skin care & cosmetics niche) is to broad? I appreciate any information from you.
nathaniell Premium Plus
I think it's a perfect niche. It's a great way to narrow down "beauty and makeup" to a more specific audience. It's not too broad and not too narrow.
Hi. Perfect! Thank you very much Nathaniel.🙏 The fact that I am beginning to understand the aspects of training, what affiliate marketing means, and all the tools that can be made available to me here, but especially your time and the value of the information you provide to me, gives me the certainty that I would take the right decision to continue with Wealthy Affiliate for the long run.🙂

I would have two more questions for you if it doesn't bother you. In the lesson with the keywords, I understood that it is recommended that Avg be> 30 and Qsr <100. I've noticed that in skincare niche it's harder to find keywords.

1. What does it mean when for example a keyword has Avg <10, Traffic <10, Qsr 12? Will that keyword not be ranked in Google?

2. Also, can you share with me from the techniques you use, a few tips to better understand the process of searching for keywords?

It would make my job easier if I understood the process correctly.
Once again, thank you very much. You are a true GEM here!
nathaniell Premium Plus
There will always be difficult and easy keywords, but the truth is, I go for any keyword I think is interesting. Low competition keywords are just easier for new sites, but since I build for the long term, I'm not really afraid of competition. Long term, I am confident I can compete effectively!

1. <10 means less than ten, so very few, or maybe no traffic from this keyword.

2. There are TONS of keyword research trainings here in WA. Especially check out past webinars from Jay.

"Keywords" are basically the main idea for each of your article. If my keyword is "crazy pizza toppings", then the title of my article could be "Ten Crazy Pizza Toppings You've Never Heard Of", and my article will be about those crazy toppings.

Once you've chosen a few keywords, here's how you incorporate them into your website. Each article on your site should focus on one keyword.

Here's a great framework I use to understand which keywords to go for: Hope that helps Indyra!
Hi Nathaniel. It helps me a lot because they clarified other doubts for me. I'm glad you're my mentor.

Best wishes.
