What is the Problem with SSL and WA's hosting

This has occurred on every site that I have hosted with WA. At some point the SSL cert goes bad or out of date and my site is down. If I am not closely monitoring this I won't know when it happens. Support never explains why, nor do they fix it because it happens over and over and over again. Is it just me?

Can you dig it?

Hi Damien,

I checked all of the sites hosted here at WA through your account and do not see the SSL error. Perhaps it's fixed? SSL certificates renew every 90 days, so in the case that an SSL certificate expires, it's usually something that requires us to look into it. Sometimes toggling SSL off then back on will request a new certificate and fix the issue.

Let me know if this is still an issue, and if so, which site you're having the issue with.

Thanks for your attention to this Carson, that is exactly the problem. Every time I build a new site the SSL inevitably expires. I let support know and they fix it. It has happened to almost every new site I have purchased here. Some more than once but usually after it gets fixed the first time it does not happen again. However, I have to catch it the first time and let them know that the SSL has expired.

The problem is not the SSL certificate nor the WA hosting. The issue is because of insecure content. You may have added a banner or a link to an insecure website.

wrong the ssl expired it has happened every time. Every time they fix it but it happens every time.

Then the problem must be that Site Domains don't automatically update the SSL certificates. Where my sites are hosted the certificates are updated automatically several times a year.

Perhaps a private message to Carson will help to rectify this. It's not a very good situation for everyone that uses WA hosting.

Hi Damian, I am pasting a link in this comment to a training I did on HTTP to HTTPS for WA hosted websites.

Now, you probably don't want to read the entire training, although it may interest you, but on Page 3 of this training I explain how I dealt with a page on my website that was giving the same error message as you show in this post.

On page 3 you will see a link that site support sent to me - 'why no padlock' . They didn't explain anything, they just sent the link. I used this link and fixed my problem.

This should work for you too.

Has nothing to do with this

Oh well, I tried!

Thanks, Valerie
I just bookmarked that training.
Happy Easter to you and your family

Thank you very much, Sylvia.
I greatly appreciate your kind comment.
Happy Easter to you and your family, too.
Valerie

So far I have never had this happen. Hope you get a solution or an answer.

This hasn't ever happened to me, but I can understand your being aggravated with the problem. Hope they get it straightened out for you soon!
